Some stamps I can find easier if I associate them with the manufacturer, so I store them that way. Mostly I separate them into categories similar to what's been mentioned above. Even my SU sets (pre-demo days) were separated and stored this way.

These trays stack on top of each other well, or can be rigged so they can be stored likes books on a shelf. Just make sure the shelves are REALLY well-mounted, lol!
That is a very good idea, thanks. We are almost to the point in my room to hang the cabinets and I was wondering what I would do with my individual stamps. GREAT idea.

Thanks Girls!

I have tried the small Sterilite drawers which was ok I guess. I tried the SU cases & didn't like that. I do like how Anna's stamps stand on edge in the plastics drawers. I saw these a yr. ago in a magazine and just love them, but I'll have to win the lottery to get them. http://www.bestscrapbookshelf.com/

As for unmounted in use cd & dvd cases. I'm good with my unmounted for storage. Just can't figure out a good way to make the wood mounted convenient & quick to get out & put away.
