Default The Joy of Cardmaking 2

Has anyone found this in a bookstore or craft store yet? If so, where? Papercrafts says it's due out in January and I am chomping at the bit!

TIA,

Debbie

Well, I haven't seen the new book/mag yet, but I did just get this message from PaperCrafts, so I thought I'd share it here.

Their website includes more than 10 projects from the new issue. Check it out here.

I've heard where others have found it at B&N. I ordered mine from the website and already have it. I really like the book In fact, my gallery has a card I've made from one of the sketches.

I bought mine last friday at my local scrapbook store. I kept asking them when they were going to get it and wouldn't you know it just before I got there UPS had just dropped it off. I think I almost like it better than the first one, and I really liked that one.

I am so hoping stamping is featured more prominently in this, than it usually is in their publications. Can anyone give me some info in that regard? I will more than likely have to travel an hour at least to find this publication, unless I choose to order it online . . . and, so, just was wondering . . . TIA!

I have mine right here!

In this issues ther are 58 "recipes" for cards. Each recipes has one primary card that instructions are given in detail and 3-4 variations on the same "recipe". These variations just have the supplies listed. In the back they have sketches of all 58 cards and the 3 actual patterns they used in projects.

While there are cards featured using Stampin' Up stamps (and other stamps for that matter) I would say a lions share of the cards are created with patterned paper, stickers, rub-ons, ribbons, and various other embellishments. They show beaucoup heaps of cards that have been stiched or sewned.

If you are looking for a lot of creative ideas and new inspirations for cards - then this book is for you... If you want a book that is stamping heavy or cards with mostly stamping - then I suggest take a pass. However; so many people here are oh so talented I forsee lots of cool background stamps being used instead of patterened paper.

Just my two cents - hope it helps.

Just bought mine today at Barnes and Noble but haven't had a chance to look at it yet. I also saw it at Borders.

i bought mine a few days ago at border's.......i was so excited!! i'm a bit disappointed though!! there aren't a lot of cards that are stamped on - either sentiments or images. i'm glad i got it for the sketches, but i'm hoping that i will see more stamping in future publications.

I don't mind that there isn't a lot of cards stamped on. I can just use them as inspiration and be creative and use my stamps in place of the embellishments and such. My 2 cents...
