Or maybe a thin strip of cardstock behind the adorable sentiment, going from side to side with some kind of hardware on it?

Another layer may be nice behind the mouse, but I think if you run some cord or ribbon across the back of the mouse image around the card, and tie on the left with a simple knot that would be nice too.
