Default I've been bit by the Bella Bug...

So, I go to the Bella website...WOW!! Holy cow...Where has that been my whole life?

How do you figure out which Bellas go with which acrylic block? Like I know you match the letters, just wondering if someone had like a "cheat sheet" that they follow.

I would just make note of the size of each Bella that you are interested in and compare it to the various acrylic blocks they offer. Sometimes there is a corresponding letter, but not always. I own lots of Bellas but only four blocks. Happy Shopping!!!

You can find the blocks @ AC Moore or Michael's or Joann's. I did order Bellas but only used them once to make some cards But I am looking to sell the ones I have.

That's what I was thinking that I could reuse the blocks. I only ordered one acrylic block, and cosmobella..oh la la...Who could resist that one?

Am I the only one who does not get it with these anorexic cartoon ladies? I am honestly surprised to find cards made with these in galleries of some of the stampers here who usually produce very classy art. Well, I guess the company that makes these sure knew how to market them! LOL!~

maybe since she's a new member she doesn't realize that they are created/designed by a SCS member? I am right on that aren't I??

I guess we are all just huge fans of anorexic art

And maybe - just maybe, when you post something insulting the creator might be reading...just something to think about. But of course we are all entitled to our opinions, even if it hurts someone else's feelings.

So here is my opinion....

Not cool! Not cool, at all....

these anorexic figures are SO not like their creator.. and you know what? Their creator is not offended at all! It just came out so roughly, I guess? I was a little taken aback! So no frets my bella pets!

LOL the "anorexic" comment has me rolling!!! and if the Bellas are considered anorexic then we're ALL in trouble - they have hips and busts (which I think anorexics DON'T have????) and to me they're CURVY!! The only thing "skinny" about them is their arms but it's part of the drawing style and I like it - oh and they have small waists but it just emphasizes their "curviness" IMO -I LOVE the Bellas!! They're CUTE!!

I don't think the post was meant to be rude at all! How could she possibly think she was addressing the artist? I think we need to allow opinions that are only one sided! I am a bit shocked that any sign of not loving something is met with disdain. The cartoons are thin. I don't think any harm was meant and I think we should not be attacking those with opinions that differ.

I'm a big bella fan - I only own 6 so far, but I want to order more! I love that Bella is so multi-dimensional - she's a lawyer, mom, dentist, tennis player, etc... so many cute images!

And regarding the previous poster who didn't like the "anorexic" bella images, it seems a little bit odd to me that the poster just joined SCS this week, yet, her post reads more like she's been a member here long enough to recognize people's galleries and distinguish what they "normally" produce.

Some people have said they have read here for years before ever posting. I don't think that not choosing to post should negate opinions.

I 100% agree that everyone should have their right to post their opinion, but according to her "join date" it was only a week ago.

I'm not trying negate an opinion - just posting an observation.

Housefan, I don't understand the defensiveness.. just like people are allowed to express their opinions, people are allowed to respond to those opinions! What you see as not negative may be viewed as negative by other people! It works both ways. Bottom line is, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Reactions are extremely subjective. For instance, if I was upset with you because I 'felt' that you did something wrong but you didn't think you did anything wrong, I still think my feelings prevail because it is how I 'feel'. Not sure if I am getting my point across. Instead of arguing back and forth, let's just appreciate people's opinions. If someone wants to read it as negative, they are allowed to! If someone wants to agree with the poster, then by all means, agree!
There's my 2 cents worth. It is banter like this that can make this thread downspiral (is that a word??)

hugs
Emily

Just wanted to chime in and say I love, love, love the bellas, fat, skinny, whatever, they are artistic beauties, each individual and unique in their own special way, just like people.

I am awaiting my first order (and let me tell you, it's killin me to be patient...but Em, I know you can't make them get here faster) Today, I filled my cart with a ton more bellas and can't wait to push the purchase button again...but I MUST show some sort of self control!!

Let's have a look at it, why don't we?

[uote]Am I the only one who does not get it with these anorexic cartoon ladies? I am honestly surprised to find cards made with these in galleries of some of the stampers here who usually produce very classy art. Well, I guess the company that makes these sure knew how to market them! LOL!~[/quote]

If she had said

"I'm sorry but these really don't appeal to me...."

There might have been gasps but nobody would have been insulted.

But there's no getting around the line "stampers here who usually produce very classy art."

Frankly, why does one bother to post just to be negative and insulting? If she couldn't simply say it wasn't her style, she could have closed the window and found another thread to read.
