It's no fun not being able to craft!
I had surgery on my thumb 8 days ago and I don't know how I cannot craft for 3 months. It's my dominant hand which makes it that much harder. Tell me it gets easier!
Sorry the pic is sideways

Oh no! I saw a post on one of my FB art pages where someone trained themselves to draw with their non-dominant hand, so I guess there's that if you get desperate! I hope your surgery was a success and recovery goes smoothly!

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Could you do something else with your creative impulse in the meantime? Maybe learn to use that non-dominant hand a bit, even if it’s not up to the fine motor skills of drawing! Perhaps you could sketch some card ideas with it, doesn’t matter if they’re rough if they’re just a guide for you later. Or maybe doing some colouring pages would help you build up some skills? It would be something creative to do and you’d be able to track your progress.
It was different because he was a little boy when it happened so his “handedness” (posh word is chirality if you like to know such things and haven’t come across it!) was not so ingrained but my dad is almost totally ambidextrous. An accident prevented him using his dominant hand for a while so he just taught himself to use the other. To this day he can comfortably switch hands for almost everything - his handwriting is different with each hand but equally legible.

I'm so sorry for this hiccup in the crafting. Hopefully your surgery was successful and your recovery will go smoothly. During this time perhaps investing in some card kits that have premade elements would help you create without having to do everything.

I'm sure the best, and not easy, thing to do is let it rest and heal. I remember the frustration of sitting playing the piano with only one hand for a couple of weeks after an accident.
It occurred to me that a few years back there was a DTGD challenge which required us to make a card with our non dominant hand. If you're a fan club member you can look up the full write-up in the archive threads, but everyone can enjoy the gallery. It's amazing what people managed. I think there was some reliance on scraps, but it's a great gallery: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Thanks Sabrina...I think a lot of those are perfectly good looking cards!
Um...what's important here is you don't risk the healing and end with a thumb with issues forever....
Ok so now the grown up answer was made LOL...
Maybe you can surf and record some how tos to look at later...you have time now to organize them on the computer even if you have to hunt and peck. Or watch the classes you never got around to.
I don't know how good your coordination is with the other hand...seems like maybe you could do a full DP layer and maybe an ephemera piece and pre-cut sentiment? Do you have punches? You could hit one with the good hand.
