Issuing a Challenge!!!!
 

For those of you who have been a member of Splitcoast for a year or more now, I challenge you to become a member of the SCS fan club by making your $20 contribution to supporting the web site. I have been a member since July 2004 and I feel it's time to give back to the web site that has given me so much advice, support and ideas. I just made my contribution TODAY and I CHALLENGE you to do the same.

Why should you contribute??

DO you know how much money it takes to run a web site such as this? I run a non-stamping related website that is about half the size of Splitcoast. We pay monthly to run one powerful server. Splitcoast runs two powerful servers. You also need software for the bulletin board and software for the gallery. Not to mention all the other software you need to protect your server from the outside world. All of this costs money!!

Do you know how much time it takes to run a web site like this? A website such as this needs constant babysitting!! When there are problems with the server or upgrades that need to be made it almost always results in loss of sleep and time with family.

How many times have you had a questions answered by someone on SCS, got an idea for a fabulous card, or just were able to vent about something going on in your life on SCS? This web site is a great resource and we need to contribute to keep it going.

Great post! We actually have another server now - so that makes three. Or did we lose one? I dunno - I am pretty sure we have a third now to keep boonie & bucky happy! (I think his name is buhner?)

Wowzers... I just looked to see how long I had been a member and i registered July 2004.. I can't believe it has been a year already. So I donated again because I definitely don't want to miss anything and SCS derserves $$$ to keep this site going. Great job guys and gals!!!!!!

I just signed up on July 4th! I never really thought about what it takes to run a site like this...and then I tried to do my first upload...and as my luck has it, I ran into a small problem. Jen and Daven resolved it in short order.

All of a sudden I realized how many people contribute behind the scenes to make us happy! I say - join to support it...and as a bonus...get access to the Dirty Dozen Gallery and JulieHRR's promotion!

Thanks for the great pep talk, Brenda! I'd be lost without this site. I'll soon be renewing my Fan Club membership. It's a much better value now for anybody signing up for the first time, with all the past DD galleries available. They had better rest up their eyeballs because there's a lot of catching up to do! :)

Great pep talk! I joined last August (SCS) and joined the Fan club last October-ish :)

Is there a way to tell when I last contributed to the Fan Club? Gosh, has it been a year yet? I get so much info from this site, I'm happy to contribute.

I just joined...for the first time. I was going to wait and join in my birthday month (Aug.) but, heck, I decided to say "Happy Birthday to ME" a month or so early! I'm excited! Thanks to all who make this site work. Mona

I joined a year and a half ago, but didn't discover the forums until about a year later. Now I spend too much time here. Sent in my donation for the fan club a couple days ago. What fun the see the dirty dozen gallery. Thanks for the great site.

I know the $20 goes to helping with the cost of running this site, but the Fan Club gets WAY MORE for that $20!!! :D

Good timing, Qbee!! It's funny...I was just checking last night to see how soon my membership expired, and saw that it was August 1st! Yikes! Thank goodness for paypal...made it so easy and QUICK to renew...

How are y'all finding out the month you signed up for the DDD? I cannot find it anywhere on SCS. Did you go back and look at your PayPal account (for those that signed up that way?) Please be so kind as to share how you found out that you needed to renew your subscription! I thought they were going to send us an email when we needed to renew?? Thanks in advance for any help someone can give me!!
