Default Stamped gifts for kids to make

Denver channel 9 had a segment this evening on easy gifts for kids to stamp/make. The three items include a sachet made from a decorated envelope, a photo cube puzzle from wood blocks, and a calendar of kids' art work.

Here is their link:

Unfortunately, there are no photos with the directions. I thought the sachet idea looked cute, but even on tv I could not see how to avoid having the pieces of potpourri scatter. Maybe a nylon net bag?

A few years ago my demo - now my upline - showed us how to make homemade potpourri (?) using vermiculite and scented oil - we put that in an envelope we stamped, sealed the envelope and tied an organdy ribbon bow around it - great quicky gift idea!

Wow, I'm with you. I don't exactly get their directions for the envelope idea. But I like the idea of the sealed envelope. It gives you a nice surface for stamping and you could do all sorts of themes. There was a gift shop in Alexandria VA where I used to live that sold beautiful envelopes of potpourri. They had lovely watercolor images on the envelopes. You could try making your own envelopes from cardstock (that have an opening on the side to make it taller rather than short and wide) ... use a funnel (rolled into a cone) for the kids to pour the sachet in, then seal with glue.

Or you could get little nylon bags with drawstring in the wedding section at Michaels and attach a stamped tag to the drawstrings. I think it's a cute idea for kids to do!

Fabulous idea! I'll have to tuck it away for a school craft project!
