Default Ink storage idea

Came up with an ink storage rack to go with the ribbon one. It's just 2 tie racks from the dollar store, clip the extra hook from the bottom, flip them to face each other and screw them to a board. That's it! Each one will hold 12 ink pads.
Just have to hang it up now. Have to head to the dollar store tomorrow to buy some more racks. Only bought 2 to try it.

Here's some pics (not very good though). Hope this makes sense.

1 - 2 tie racks

2 - Clip the 2 bottom corner hooks off

3 - Lay on a board (mine were 5 1/2" x 15"). I put a stamp pad at each end to make sure they'ld fit.

More:

4 - screw down to the board

5 - close up of 3 SU pad in the holder

6 - It will hold the SU pads, Stazon and versamark.

Hope someone likes the idea and will make one .... or more. LOL

Utterly ingenious!!! Now, how come that one ink pad is still shrink wrapped?

Great idea! In this area, there are Dollar General, Dollar Tree, $1.00 Shop, and Family Dollar. Surely I will be able to find tie racks for $1.00?! LOL

omggggggg how smart are you?!?!?! I can never remember the names of them......did you get this at the yellow dollar store or the red one? one is family dollar and one is dollar general but I can't remember which is which. There is a green one too, I think that one is dollar tree.

N-O W-A-Y!? This is just perfect! So, for only two bucks, plus a few screws, I could hang this on a wall! Ok... now, to find a Dollar Store!

Thumbs up

I think you should design Stamping supplies holders...... Great idea and job!!!

I know I have seen this tie racks in Wal-mart, Mejer's, Target, and
K-mart.

So if you don't have a Dollar store around you might waht to check out the other stores.

I share your idea with my dh about the ribbon holder he thought that was cool.
He even told me I could have the one shelf in the garage if I wanted it.

I'm cheap and I'm obsessive compulsive. Had planned on making a wooden one, but it's just way toooooo cold in the garage to do woodworking. So I had to come up with something in the mean time.

LOL ...

Here it's Dollarama. Green Logo with yellow lettering .. if that helps. But I know I've seen them other places .. just never looked at them the right way before.

What a cool idea! I was wondering when you put the ink pads in there, are they loose or really secure. I am currently using an old tapedeck holder to put my pads in...and the SU pads fit, but it's quite tight and when I pull one out, I have to be careful not to pull the thing off the wall.

Your idea seems perfect...can't wait to try it.

The up and down fit is just on the loose side. You decide on the side to side, so that won't be a problem either. The versamark pads a just a hair wider then the SU pads, so you might want to use them when putting it together.

Does genius run in your family? I'm subscribing to this thread because this is a terrific idea. Now I just have to see if our dollar stores carry the tie racks.
