I haven not heard/seen any whining in over a week. Lets keep it that way. Lets not stir pots, argue, throw .02cents in, poke fun at, etc......Let's get back to what we are all here for......friendship and crafting!
smooches to all!

Stampin Sarah, what does John like? I am thinking of cracking open my new Mr. Voila for him.....aside from perhaps a few gin and tonics??? Is there anything he esp. loves or something that would strike him funny???
Maybe I do need that Michaels Martini stamp!

Karen, I really don't know. He lives in Oregon and I am in Washington so we don't see each other often. Now with him in Kandahar (YUK!!) it will be a year before I see him again. He will just be shocked to get cards and he will probably think "OH Man, what's my mom up to". Any kind of card would be nice.

Great thread! Love you guys. Love to stamp. Hate the whining! Yeah, let's encourage people like Sandy's son and others. There's so much that can be tough in life, and stamping is my therapy. - Gay Howe

That's what I do! It really helps to release the "steam" in my head sometimes! I tend to stick to just the General Stamping Talk, but lately that's looking rougher than CE!! LOL Hitting the gallery helps inspire, lift up myself and others, and spread the "ooooommmmmmm" feeling about.

I absolutely love this site and always look for positive threads. And this really happens to be one. Thanks Joan for starting it.
God bless your son for doing what he is doing for our country. He has my respect as do all of the young men over there fighting. My card will go out on Monday. May GOD bless him and keep him safe and return him to his family.

I have to say, I love when you ladies tell me you love this from Amuse, or that from TAC or this from Inky Antics, etc... I have found some of my favorite things from those of you who found them first and shared. So please, don't stop sharing the good and happy things!!! Let's always share what we love!

I think SCS has the potential, if it isn't already, to be THE premiere stamping site in general regardless of company affiliation. That's difficult for some, not all demos to swallow here. If we respect everyone and keep it all clean we can live together peacefully. Keep sharing what we love, doing what we love and it all be great in the end.

Thanks, Joan. I just don't understand the whole argument. If I don't like the policy at Target, I'll stop shopping there and go to WalMart. Most small stores still have those signs saying they reserve the right to refuse service.

I have certain expectations of "home party demos" that I buy from. That includes Papmered Chef, Tupperware, PartyLite, etc. I expect them to place my orders promptly and deliver them in the manner we both agree to. I expect them to step up and handle any problems I have with the merchandise I receive. I expect them to be able to answer my questions about the product or to tell me they will get me an answer. I expect that if they want me to buy from them, they will make it as easy as possible to do so - call me when they have a new catalog or mail one to me - keep me updated on specials, etc.

I don't think any of my expectations fall outside the realm of good customer service. It's how I conduct business and therefore how I expect to be treated.

Did someone say WINE???? Oh, it was wHine. I got excited there for a second!

I LOVE this site! There are so many more positive and uplifting and fun people here than spoiled brats. I have learned so much and have accomplished things I am so proud of because of all of you! Maybe it's because I skip any negative posts, too (I always hated arguments) but I have seen so many good things happening here and not many bad. If this is bad, I can't wait to see how good it gets when hte whining is over!

I totally agree...if I don't get "warm fuzzies" when reading a thread, I just don't continue and who needs more chaos and stress in life. Stamping is supposed to be relaxing and fun. There are so many more important things to worry about. I LOVE SCS and have made some great friendships here without even meeting them in person.
My card to John will be in mail tomorrow or Tuesday. Living in Colorado Springs, we have five military installations here. We are so proud of our men and women who are serving our country and protecting and defending our USA. Many heartfelt thanks to them and our prayers always.
This sure made me feel better!!

If you speak to him and happen to remember it, please ask him if there are any men or women that he knows of who don't receive a lot of mail. It would be wonderful to shower them with cards from complete strangers who just want to thank them for all they do for us.

Thanks Rachel. I just sent him another email and asked him your question. If he sends me names and addresses I will PM you with them and probably start another thread entirely.

Gee thanks, I was just coming to find this thread so I could put John's mom on my buddy list and maybe when my soldier box gets full I can send it to his unit, it does take a while to fill a 8.10 flat rate box though so hopefully he'll be home safe and sound by then.
I love email notification!

As for "us" vs. "them" some people need to think before talking because you know - you can't have one without the other!

And, stick to the threads that you enjoy as this is to be enjoyable. If you start internalizing the negative, and your mood or attitude is "off" it is so easy to say the wrong thing.
I think this thread has proven that everyone is sick and tired of it, and ready for a fresh start. Onward.....

Sorry, I'm gonna get crucified here, but we have a thread whining about... whiners?!?!?! PLEASE, let this thread just go away! The part I love about SCS the most is that it's an all inclusive place. There are plenty of opinions/thoughts I don't agree with but I just move on. there are a TON of totally awesome ther things to enjoy. There's nothing more annoying than a self-righteous whiner!

As long as we're whinin' and talkin' about what we're tired of, I'm tired of people writing topic headings like they're meant to be soap opera openers. How about being polite and really writing a subject heading so we know what to go into and what we won't learn/help with?

Then I'm wondering why she didn't just move on rather than trying to make some folk feel like she belongs and they're not quite meeting her standards. Usually the whining doesn't get under my skin, but this one sure did!

You will have to ask her why she didn't move on, but I don't consider what was being shared here whining. More like sharing in an understanding that had nothing at all to do with excluding any group or person. It really is an exact opposite feeling and many of us are just plain tired of the baiting and the backpeddling by specific posters lately. The intentional and fervent posting to get others riled up then the sudden holding up of hands and backing off with a "What are you so upset about now? I didn't mean that! Boy, are ***you*** negative." It has happened too much lately and I really feel as if this was a good thread to share in that understanding.

Sorry if any of us sounded like we were whiners! But sometimes, just like with kids, one may just need to whine about the whining as it gets beyond annoying and into troublesome areas.

Rachel,

I got an email from him today with the names of quite a few guys in his unit. They are all at the same address and none of them have their rank listed. I will start another thread for anyone who wants to send cards to these guys in this unit. But first, I have to print out my email just to get the names. I will PM you with them since I don't even know which forum to put them in. Thank you again for offering to send cards. They will all appreciate it.

Sandy:

Sending these men and women cards is the very, and I do mean the absolute very, least we can do. I promise to share the list with some amazing women I know who will send them cards (posse.... this means you!).

What about Everyday Chit Chat? That way more people see it. A moderator will move it if it is incorrect. I asked for RAK's for my Mom before she died in February and received almost 200 of them. And that was only posted on the Demo side.

((((((((Sandy))))))))) You are an amazing person.

I didn't hear any whining in Joan's OP. Unfortunately, there are some people here who just like to get others riled up. It's been happening a lot lately. I think that's all she was saying, that she hopes things soon get back to normal.

If you could also PM me with those I'll make sure a card from Angel Stampers gets to them. Better yet if you know a number of the men in the unit Carol may send them all one, I think she still does it that way.

If you let the arrow from your mouse rest on the title without clicking on it, a little white box will come up and give you a preview of what the thread is about. Then, if you're not interested, simply don't click.

It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round. I am an SU! demo but I also buy other products. I have friends that are SU! demos. I have friends that are not. I have friends that work at HL, Michaels and the LSS. I also have some customers that work at some of these places. We all love stamping and scrapping. There is really no need in people from competing companies not getting along. There are so many into these hobbies now that there are enough customers to go around. There are very few people that buy from just one place. I understand that. Splitcoast is a great place to encourage each other and offer advice to help each other out. There is no need for the attacking and fussing that is going on. I learned the hard way one year ago in May that life is too short for bickering and hurting other people. You see, my precious 31 year old healty son went to sleep one year ago on May 1st and did not wake up. He was not sick, no health problems. They say that his electrical system went haywire as he slept and his heart stopped. So you see, we never know when we go to sleep if we will see the next day. There are no promises. I just know that if I go to sleep tonight, I do not want my last words to hurt someone whether it be in print or by mouth. We are all adults that care about what we do. Why don't we try to care about each other too?
