I'm curious about your name
I was thinking today about how folks around here choose their screen names. Some are obviously your names, or kid's names, but there are some that are a complete enigma to me. the most interesting one that comes to mind (that I can't wait to read about) is smallpigpig.
Please tell us how you came up with your screen name, and what it means! I'd love to know!
My screen name: Ariel
meaning: it's my real name

Screenname: Skittl1321
It's meaning: The summer after my sophomore year in high school I started working at a camp that used "camp names"- I was Skittles, for no real reason. I worked at that camp for 3 years, and have been Skittles, or Skits since.
The numbers are 13- my "lucky number"- 2 "my dance tryout number, and used to be "10" the football number of a super cute boy- but the 0 got dropped because "21" was my (now husband) boyfriend in college's anniversary date.

"Anna" is just a random name that starts with "A" (my real name is Angie).
"741" is from digits from my phone number. Creative, huh?!
I used Anna because I never use my real name when registering on websites. It usually doesn't matter since I typically don't participate or post on sites. However, Splitcoast sucked me in (LOL!), so now a lot of people here assume my name is Anna. It's my own fault, and now I kind of like having a stamping alter-ego named Anna!

It was hard to think of a name! I wanted something with West (my last name) plus a stamping or scrapping word but everything was taken. I am lutheran because I am Lutheran and there were no similar names on this board.

'Buttons' as the name of my 24-yr old cat I had to put to sleep. That name was already taken so I just added '2' to it.

My DH and I call our kids monkeys...so, my 3 little monkeys!
Tyler is 7, Micaela is 5 and Keira is almost 2.
Also have 2 furry kids, but they are not monkeys, rather the canine persuasion.

I got married for the first time at 38 years old. I told my hubby that I did not want to take his last name becuase I had had MY name for 38 years. He told me that if I did not take his last name that I would offend his 80 year old father (whom I loved dearly until he passed away) ... so, at 38 we get married, I take his name, change everything under the sun (when you marry younger there is way less crap to change) and become Mrs. Angotti. We were married for about a year and his dad was spending the weekend with us. He and I were watching TV and something prompted the discussion of name changes and what a pain they are. He asked me why I didn't keep my maiden name and I said that I would NEVER do anything to offend him. He just looked at me and said "I can't believe you fell for that ... it would not have offended me if you didn't take my (and my son's) last name. That is your decision." Found out that Hubby played on my heart strings by using his father as an excuse. As it turns out HUBBY is the one who would have been offended if I had not taken his name, but he knew if he told me that, I would do what I wanted to anyway (which was keep my maiden name). So all my screen names, etc., are some form of MrsAngotti as a reminder that I fell for one of the OLDEST tricks in the book!!!!

Mine is the combo I came up with in college. UNT is the University of North Texas where I went to school, APhi is Alpha Phi, the sorority I am in, and 54 is the year APhi was founded on our campus. And it's been my screen name for most everything ever since.
I hope more people fill this out. It's so fun learning about everyone else!

My real name is Johanna and I like the number 7.
When I got married (at age 19) I was VERY HAPPY to take my husband's name which has only 5 letters. My maiden name was: van den Bijlaard!!

peanutbee =
"peanut" was what I called my oldest daughter when she was little.
"bee" is what I call my 2-year-old because she's busy as a bee.

Some people have really cute screen names! Mine is a little on the boring side. My first name is Gwendolynn (I go by Gwen or Gwennie) and my middle name is Jo... so I chose GwennieJo. I wasn't in a very creative mood when I joined I guess...

great thread!
mine is chicoreco----when I first started dating my DH who is Italian my brother thought he looked like chico--from "chico and the man" (which he doesn't) but then the name spread throughout the family and then my nephew added reco when he was about 4--and learning rhyming words. It is just funny how little things stick, to this day my nephew calls DH "Uncle reco"
his real name is Vinnie!?!?

Well.. I used my real name as I don't see many ladies with the name Nyoka.. so I figured it would not be used...
Long ago my Mom was a fan of the Movie "Nyoka the jungle girl"... so I was the next to come along.. and got stuck with the name... It has been a conversation starter for all my life... I liked the name until I found out it meant "snake"...
gee that doesn't describe me AT all...
Most forums my screen name is "AmzdByHsGrace" but I don't know how to change my screen name here.
God bless
Nyoka

Chrisations.ink
Mine is my business name. I derived it by combining my name "Christine" and the word "Creations". The .ink depicts what kind of buisiness I have (anything from stamping cards to medical transcribing to processing thesis, grants, resumes, designing fliers, brochures etc.).
Thanks for the thread. These stories are great!

The reason I always use Dragonbutterfly is because I am hopelessly addicted to Dragons, butterflies, dragonflies and fairies. DH says I have a bad attitude that's why I always put the Dragon part first...LOL I couldn't think of a way to incorporate fairies into Dragonbutterfly so I just left it at that. However, you'll notice I have my fairy...she's my Avitar!

To change your screen name, you will need to contact on of the moderators with the change and they will do it for you. (I've asked that question and I am pretty sure Jovi can do it. She replied to my post.)

Mine is from a line in an Edward Lear poem called "The Jumbilees." The line is "So to keep them dry, they wrapped their feet / in a pinky paper all folded neat / and they fastened it down with a pin." Here is a link to the poem if you're remotely interested.

Mine is self-explanatory too:
It's my first name (I think there is actually one other person here with the same spelling as mine, but it's not her screen name).
What can I say, Mom was a rebel! (I'm a 60's child!)
