Default How does one use the X Xyron refill without the machine?

There was a post on the Alphabittys stamps set thread (don't go there :() from
imastampaholic - >I bought the X Xyron for just this reason. Except now that I have the X and see how it works, I'll be taking the recommendation from another SCS'er here that uses the refill without the machine. Less waste. < [quote]

Hey I love that little X but hate the waste! Please share the info!
Thanks

i've not tried it, but i would imagine you just don't put the refill in and peel back a little of the plastic so you can press your punched letter directly on the adhesive. not sure if you need to put the plastic back down to apply some pressure or not.

You can still "push" your piece of paper (alphabet letter, in this case) through without the X holder piece. And you would be able to see better so that you do not waste so much space at the beginning, between, and at the end. You would have to cut it by hand with scissors, too, because the X has a serated edge to rip it off.

Hope this makes sense!

Actually, this doesn't work. I don't know why -- that's the "magic" of the Sizzix, I guess!
