If you had just $5...
to spend on something you wanted, what would it be?? I am trying to think of some little gifts for my stamping friends and I don't want to go overboard. So what would you buy???
I know I am a SU demo and can do stuff from the catty but I'd like to see what other stuff I could come up with also. Any ideas are appreciated!

A beautiful roll of ribbon, prima flowers (are any that cheap?) or some rhinestones or crystal brads.

Non-Scrappy: A Starbucks gift card (you could decorate it in a gift card holder)
Scrappy: right now I'd buy some of that awesome pom pom trim from my LSS
If I was making some $5 gifts, I would buy a bunch of larger packages of coordinating embellishments (e.g. Chipboard, flowers, brads, ribbons) and split them evenly to add up to about $5. So for five people I'd get $25 worth of stuff and divi it up. I like getting little packages of lots of goodies.

Everyone loves patterned paper! Maybe some of the new Basic Grey stuff? Or Memory Box? Their pads are about $5 each.
Embellies are always great, too.

A few sheets of some awesome SU! designer paper with some ribbon to match---could easily be split between some of your friends--I know I would love that. Maybe even cut the paper to 6 x 6 if they are card makers... and to allow your friends more sheets of each design.

I'd get one of those cute clear stamping set from Walmart for $2.97 or get some BLING! Those pretty embellishments you love to drool over in the store but rarely buy, or end up hoarding because you hate to use them up.

Definitely those cute Wal-Mart stamping sets for $2.97, if you can even get them. I can't. Also, Archivers has their "Hot Spots" items for $1.99 and I usually can find some very cute acrylic stamps and other neat items there.
Oh yes, Stickles are awesome too! You could put together some really neat stamping goodies as gifts for $5 or under!

I got a "Handmade by Shannon" stamp that a friend had made at the local office supply as a thank you for a card order I had done for them. It's not very big, only 1" x 3/4" and makes a perfect hallmark for the back of all my cards. I unscrewed the wooden handle that is standard on office stamps so I can use it more like a wood mount. I don't know if this would fall into the $5 budget but I would hope not much more and it sure was a nice gift.

I agree with this too...
I was thinking like a ribbon sampler or non-SU choices would be:
2 sheets of DP to fit their personality
1 Stickles to match
1 Yd Ribbon to match
A few brads, etc.
If you are asking what I would buy if I only had $5....probably the DP and some ribbons.

How about some accessories from the new In Colors? I was thinking that a package of the designer buttons with a few feet of some matching ribbons in a cello bag would be cute!

The white Signo pen from SU!, the clear Stardust glitter pen by Sakura, Mono Multi Adhesive by Tombow. I also like the idea of the personalized "stamped by" stamp that AlbertaStamping mentioned.

If you are going to split up packages of goodies I would seriously think about getting some Twinkling H20s. They are beautiful and addictive. A six-pack usually runs $10-12 (the LSS in Pawling usually has some in stock). It might make them order an AquaBrush from you too!
Anyway, add some watercolor paper (you can buy a pad and trim to 4.25 x 5.50 for cardfronts) and some embellishments of your choosing (to fit the recipient's personality).
I also think a cardmaker/scrapbooker can never have enough adhesive (of all types). A mix of practical and lavish would be fun to receive.
Let us know what you end up doing!
HTH and ...
Happy Crafting!

Oh, I forgot about this! I actually bought 10 of the white SU gel pens the first year it was out and gave one to all my scrapbooking/crafty friends!

Another vote for buying a variety of fun items and dividing them up as sample packs and perhaps some stamped images to go with the items. I'd love to get things I wouldn't buy normally in case I don't end up needing a whole pack.

I think the ribbon idea is great but I love the cuttlebug embossing folders if they have a die machine. They add so much texture. I use them on almost every card! They are 4.99 and sometimes they are on sale for 30-40% off. Where do you get the scotch adhesive and why do you love it, stamper1996?

I like the idea of stamped images - especially the "hostess" stuff that we can't buy. I also like the adhesive idea - I'm always running out of that and you can use the 50% off coupon at Michaels. Primas are always good to have.
Also, I love Starbucks (not that I'm getting one of these gifts), but a $5 card for me can go a long way!

Clear Dollar Stamps For Sure!
I agree with others that have mentioned the clear stamps. I would buy a bunch of the dollar sets by Studio G at Michael's. Joanne's has them too. They are too stinkin' cute for just a buck. My local Walmart stores do not have the clear sets for 2.97 yet. I think the dollar sets would stretch far better for your budget. I like everyone's suggestions for my friend who is just getting started. Have fun with your little gifts!

WOW!!! A lot of great ideas... My question is this - How do I get on the list of recipients of these great ideas? LOL - just joking! But these ideas would make great items to write down in a wish list to post on the fridge, etc so that friends and family could peruse the list for items to keep in mind for those "just because" presents.
