If you could take a class from any teacher, who would it be?

I was wondering if you had the resources and money to take a class from any teachers you wanted, who would they be any why?
Thanks!
Ilysa

Tim Holtz! He is my hero. I love his style.

kimb0 01-29-2008 04:44 AM

I second that, Michelle--I love Tim Holtz! His style really appeals to me, and I love his products!!!!

Babsnelson 01-29-2008 04:48 AM

I would have to say Becky Higgins or Alli Edwards (both for scrapping.) If it was for stamping - Tim Holtz all the way!!

NancyK. 01-29-2008 04:48 AM

Fred Mullett - I've missed the opportunity three times!

Marzbar71 01-29-2008 04:50 AM

Gina K - I've had the pleasure of taking some mini-classes with her and I also have her DVDs.

She makes everything so clear and concise and comes up with great projects.

For you Tim Holtz lovers he has some new video segments on his blog showing how to use his texture hammer, ruler & fragments. Here is the link

SophieLaFontaine 01-29-2008 05:21 AM

James Christensen. I love his artwork.

banana.cream.pie 01-29-2008 05:21 AM

Tim Holtz here too. I am taking his class at CHA next month. Can't wait!:D

afancycat 01-29-2008 05:24 AM

If money were no option, I would fly from Dallas to Canada to have a one on one with Julie Buhler (reneejul1) to try to become an expert at her No Copics No Problem technique!!! Love this girl's work!

ilysa 01-29-2008 05:51 AM

Thanks everyone,
I would like to take classes with a lot of the artists you mentioned as well. They are so talented!
Regards,
Ilysa

IreneM 01-29-2008 06:01 AM

Julie Ebersole and Michelle Wooderson. They are extremely talented.

klhbenson 01-29-2008 06:57 AM

SeattleStamper 01-29-2008 07:01 AM

My dream class would be a weekend with Becky Higgens layouts. I look forward to these in every CK issue.

papercrafting 01-29-2008 07:01 AM

I would love to take a class from her...in photography. She takes the most amazing pictures of her family.

chsgls 01-29-2008 07:31 AM

I would love to have Nichole Heady and also Erika Martin teach me a class. I love both of their styles.

NikiE 01-29-2008 07:37 AM

Nichole Heady for her style and Debbie Olsen for her copic coloring techniques. Fun question!

parrothead 01-29-2008 07:48 AM

Dave Brethauer.....no doubt about it.....I love his work and love Memory Box....maybe I'll get a chance..I think he's coming to my LSS in the spring or summer....got my fingers crossed!

denidill 01-29-2008 07:55 AM

Beate Johns!! Love her work and her style!

Sherry A 01-29-2008 08:03 AM

If you could take a class

Mine would be reneejul1 (Julie Buhler). I love here layouts and use of ribbon. I would get her to teach me to make good bows over and over and over until I finally could do them just like her. Also Sweet Miss Daisy (Anna Wight) so I could improve my watercoloring technique.

I'll turn things around with my response......Carol Duvall and Dee Grunig (sp?). I know Carol knows more than she lets on she does in her craft programs and I like the enthusiasm that Dee puts forth in the segments she does. They may not be Instructors in the same right that the others mentioned on this thread, but I would still like to spend a few hours with each of them to get their ideas. Tim Holtz would be a good 3rd choice for me for some of his products.

deb_loves_stamping 01-29-2008 08:10 AM

Julie HRR for me!

parrothead 01-29-2008 08:29 AM

Oh yeah.....let me add Sweet Miss Daisy!!

sewflake 01-29-2008 08:55 AM

Anyone with good coloring techniques!!!!!!

SweetMissDaisy 01-29-2008 08:59 AM

chadsgirl48 01-29-2008 09:28 AM

Definitely...Becky Higgins

arcopes 01-29-2008 10:08 AM

The Queen...JulieHRR!

maryrose 01-29-2008 10:33 AM

Wow, there are so many talented people right here on SCS that I'd love to take classes from!
Debbie Olsen, the queen of coloring! I think she's giving demos for COPIC at CHA, right? Kickin' myself for not being able to go this February!
Julie HRR...I think it'd just be a blast to be in the same room with this gal!
Kelly Lunceford (atomicbutterfly), just for her amazing layers and layouts!
And of course, the others already mentioned as well. You are artists! I wish you could all come hang with me in my craft space for a weekend!

AlternateReality 01-29-2008 10:42 AM

I'd love to take a class from the Buddha... or the Dalai Lama. (I'm sure what I would learn about life would help me abundantly in many ways, including art endeavors. :-D )

Julesiana 01-29-2008 11:36 AM

This is an easy question.

Jeanne S and Bad Sherry!!!

I want to be a better color-er, shader and sponger--Like them!!!

parrothead 01-29-2008 11:39 AM

I HAVE to add...Coloring Kate...I'd fly anywhere for her to teach me how to use those Copics!!

lesliespringer 01-29-2008 11:46 AM

For me it would be

Anna Wright
Trudee Sauer
Emily Giovanni
Kittie Caracciolo

I would even supply all the Chocolate!!

Ronijj 01-29-2008 11:48 AM

Most definately, Tim Holtz! He's simply amazing!

jailbirdstamper 01-29-2008 11:49 AM

martha stewart or carol duval or Lisa lisa (lisa johnson) or Julie HRR (julie ebersole)

hands down my two favorite artists - when I'm rich, I'm going to hire them to be my personal card/stamping trainers - one for each week of the month!

I can dream can't I?

RockyMountainStamper 01-29-2008 11:49 AM

The first person that popped into my mind when I saw this question was:

JulieHRR - the queen of simply beautiful cards

Also:

Tim Holtz is WAY up there on my list--the man rocks my world!

And I want Kittie to teach me her amazing scenery techniques someday!!!

Those ladies were my first two picks also! I have been to several of Dee's events when she had an office/warehouse in Lake Forest and I really miss those. I would also like to scrap with Lisa Bearnson from Creating Keepsakes.

dtstampz 01-29-2008 12:23 PM

Wow--Lots of talented stampers nominated! I'd LOVE to stamp with JulieHRR, SweetMissDaisy, or Beate. Or Debbie Olson, the fab Zindorf...
BUT--to choose just one stamper, I'd take a class from the wild & crazy JanTink! I'd bring my dear pal Judy, and lots and LOTS of chocolate! ;)
