Default ideas for vanilla ink pad?

I posted this question over on the General Stamping thread but didn't get as many answers as I was hoping for so I thought I'd try it over here. I recently bought the Very Vanilla ink pad. I guess I thought it would be a little darker than it is and am finding that I can't see it on light c/s and it's really light on the dark. One lady suggested that I heat it which would make the color come out more. I did and she was right. My SU demo gave me a few ideas like doing the poppin' pastels tecnique and to stamp on vellum with it and then color it from the back. I haven't tried either of these methods before and will be trying very soon. I was wondering if you ladies could share any other ideas/techniques that you find useful with your Very Vanilla stamp pad.

Thanks again!
Becca

Just like the white ink pad, you could drag it across a brown piece of cardstock to make it look like wood.
I have to admit that I hardly use the vanilla craft pad.

me too, I loved the idea of it when I bought it and the vanilla embossing powder, but it is not enough of a color change for me to use it that often.
