Ideas for storing 12x12 paper in a humid/damp environment
Hi All,
Right now in our new house I have my paper stored in these racks my Dad made me. I have 2 of them. One to sort cardstock and one to sort patterned paper. In our old house my scrap space was up stairs humidity was not a problem. My new house it is in a finished basement with no AC. We do have a humidifier but I saw some of my thinner cardstock starting to warp. I like being able to sort by color and manufacter, and have it somewhat easy to get to. TIA, Katie |
Hi Tia,
I grew up in Galveston, which is an island on the Gulf, and humidity and mold were huge problems. We had a dehumidifier in a few rooms, but also had these plastic jars with screw on lids that we would put in each closet. They had some material in them that actually absorbed water. We had to pour them out every so often. You might be able to put some of those right next to your cardstock storage, or even in the cabinets. Hope this helps! Save those little silica or dessicant baggies you get in your shoes, etc. too, for the paper bins you have. I did a search and found this website: http://www.amazinghomeproducts.com/s...TOKEN=58800608 There are tons of them, though..you might find a better one. |
