Default Ideas for Christmas Decorations

Okay - you are the creative experts. I need help! I, together with a couple other ladies, coordinate my church's women's ministry. We are putting together our second annual Christmas brunch and I volunteered to find ideas on cheap, easy to make decorations that can be hung from the ceiling or used to brighten up walls. We want classy, yet inexpensive. We will have a group of people to make them, so they have to be easy to explain. One idea was to make snowflakes out of those plastic pieces that hold six-packs of pop together. Apparently they are quite pretty - but I don't know how it's done or where to get enough plastic pieces. We could stamp something - I have snowflake stamps - but I don't have any ideas of what I could make for this event with them. Any ideas???

I have saved this pic for awhile, it came from the Hero Arts site but I don't think it's on there anymore. I thought this would be fun to do with my SU snowflake stamp.

Lynn... That is a really cool idea. Love the garland.
Could be done with so many different colorcombinations with difeerent stamps. I'm thinking red and green with the really old SU set that has little holly branches and berrys - or maybe a small wreath.
I've got a little angel stamp that could be done in gold and purple.

Not sure how many you need to make, if it is many, you could purchase some patterned vellum (snowflakes, swirls, flecked) and take it to your local scrapbook store and select seasonal shapes. Simply punch a hole in the top and hang with silver cording. Alternatively, if you do want to stamp some, you could cut vellum into 4" squares, stamp/color a design, punch a hole in one corner and hang as diamond shape from the ceiling. Vellum is fairly versatile. So, you could even stamp an image in black on the front and brayer several colors onto the back for a colorful, festive look.

I have a snowflake die-cut, if you want I can die-cut some snowflakes for you and send them.

I saw somewhere in the gallery here a cool idea using a CD. It was painted and then stamped, and a ribbon put through the hole to hang it by. This one had a cardstock piece attached to create a pocket. It was very cute, and easy.
