A friend has asked me to work with her daughter and 15 friends on a stamping project at her birthday. Always up for a challenge, I said yes. Not all are scrapbookers, but I thought we'd do 6x6 sheets for the hostess. She wants something that everyone can make and take home. I have a few ideas:
Insert for the binders with the clear cover
Book bags
Journals
Inserts for mugs
Any other ideas? I'd appreciate any thoughts or ideas you all might have!
Love the journal idea! I think an altered journal is just the thing. I know my dd loves to write in her "Dire" - ok, she's 6, but I think girls love to have a journal! They can add their monogram (ultra popular with girl accessories now) and you will have a happy bunch IMHO!
T-shirts, sneakers, pillow cases. SU craft ink will work on fabric if heat set. Kids love matching T shirts (I think).
I think T-shirts would be a great project! Then have all the kids put on their shirts and take a group shot - send copies of the pics as part of a thank you card.
I noticed at JoAnns last time I was there they had all of their Summer Camp project items on clearance for 60 percent off. You may want to run there and clean them out of what is left. They had a bunch of white baseball hats that could be fun to stamp on.
I vote for the journals. Remember how I loved paper and ink even way back then. Favorite color was a bottle of Schaffer's purple ink. Yes I'm old enough to remember fountain pens that you filled from a bottle
One of the big things at camp was the pillowcase. The girls loved to decorate them but would leave plenty of space for their friends to write messages with the fabric pens - they had a blast!
15!!! WOW - you do like a challenge!
My dd is going into 6th grade ... she likes altered comp books and beaded pens. A quick tip - avoid the glitter unless you want it everywhere - on them, on the floor, on the walls, on the furniture, on the ceiling ...
Surprisingly, they also like making cards - a basic faux tearing design where they have some choices has been really popular with kids I know (even the boys ... using Sports Sets) All the kids "need" birthday cards. What I've learned is that kids want to have some creative freedom - and if you don't give it to them, they'll take it! ;)
