I'd like to see a set that parents would give a child for doing well at something other than sports. Oh, and an updated graduation set. don't like the current one!

I just wanted to say that last time around I e-mailed a few set suggestions to SU, and we got two of them!!!!

Granted, I am sure that lots of people wished for them as well, but last year we got Computer Quips... and it is so PERFECT for my hubby and all his friends, as they are all software engineers with a wacked sense of humor. The other set was the travel sketchbook in the mini - just love it now that I live here in the UK.

keep this thread going, SU does pay attention

As for my suggestions on future stamp sets, I will keep a flame going for a drinks set

I would also love to see more guy sets, and not cutesie either - perhaps in the style of travel sketchbook. A hiking stamp, a biking stamp, a climbing stamp, and a nice mechanics/tools set. I know there is a tools set in the catty, but it is way to kids like for any of the tool addicted men that I know.

Oh, and the candle in the other hand is for SU to come to the UK Yes, it is a very big candle, as I suspect I will be waiting a while

I'd like to see a cornucopia with small seasonal items to put in (on) it, such as gourds & squash for fall, Christmas decorations, Easter eggs, etc.

I love reading everyone else's suggestions. I'd like something "poolside--" that's not beach-y or retro. Something for new college or college students would be awesome, something you could stamp on care packages and cards. And something "literature" themed you could add to a gift of books.

I thought I remembered seeing an olive and martini thing is an SU set. Thanks for not lettting me think I'm losing it. BTW, Close to my heart has a set in their new catalog with two tall martini glasses; one has an olive too! It's really quite cute. I just saw it online.

Well, you just never know! At convention this year (2nd session and probably 1st session as well), one of the biggies mentioned how they were visiting a stamp convention in England (incognito) and someone must have made a purchase of some type with an SU business credit card because as they were leaving someone from that booth went running after them shouting, "STAMPIN' UP! STAMPIN' UP!" so they stopped and looked back (who could resist that?) Apparently this person had noticed the name on the CC and came after them wanting to know when SU was coming to England! He didn't give any info on what their response was, of course, and I think they were just telling the story to underscore the value of "name recogniton/brand recognition" in marketing but I still got a kick out of that story.

And one year at Leadership I was talking to the guy who, at the time, was in charge of international marketing/expansion and said to him, "hey, my Aussie friends want to know when you are expanding into Australia". He just smiled and didn't say anything but it was not that long until they made the announcement (so clearly it was in the works already and he was keeping quiet). What I'm saying is, just don't give up! Jan

oh sorry, back to the original thread topic....I would LOVE to see some more masculine sets as well. My boys all played soccer/futbol or whatever you call it where you live and I would love some more sets with "unisex" images and while we are on the subject, I think a comical or clever set with drinks would be cute....like "when life hands you limes, make margaritas" or that sort of thing. At this point in my life I'd rather be nursing a margarita instead of a baby! lol! (been there, done that and now I'm 50 with grown kids....nothing against breastfeeding, ok?) And the Christian religion overall doesn't endorse "over indulging" in anything or doing anything to cause another to stray but I do enjoy a nice glass of white zin or a strawberry margarita once in a while! oh, oh, oh...I thought of one more theme! Remember the old (very old!) set Working Women Series? That was so cute and I loved it! For some reason I never bought it when it was current but don't I wish I had it now! Would love something along those lines again. Jan

Soccer is an American term, for the sport... since we already have football ( although they play with their hands and throw the ball - where does that makes sense),
as far as I know US is the only place that calls the sport soccer ( as British refer to it as football and in south america calls it Futbol)

how odd.. can you tell i played for a while ( 10 years actually)
I love watching rugby also...

I'd vote for a masculine occupation set with the items people already mentioned: books, bridges, train, mechnic tools/toolbox, etc.

Excellent ideas!

In total agreement over the suggestions so far!

One more I'd maybe like to see is an exotic animal set! Maybe snakes, lizards, birds and ferrets. Okay, I'm leaning towards the ferrets because I have two. I'd like them to be more on the realistic side too.

Oh, and on that note, having a cat set that was more realistic would be pretty neat!

I would love to see something more for the toddler boy and preschool age boy that doesn't have dinosaurs or sports things on it. I see tons of cute things for girls, but my little boy is getting left out!! he LOVES dogs and getting dirty and being silly! There is so much out there for girls, stamping and scrapbooking wise, they are forgetting the little boys out there!

Love the dodo! Don't feel silly - we all forget things and since there are a variety of beliefs, it's easy to misremember what a certain person views as moral/immoral.

I'd like new/different cat sets and wedding sets. I have what I like of the current ones and am ready to invest in new ones.

I think a fun set would be like a rock and roll set. Something with an electric guitar, drum set, keyboard. Myself and lots of people I know are very involved in music, and it would be nice to have a music set. I think teens like myself would love it!

Also, I'd like to see more humorous sets. Don't get me wrong, Stampin Up can definately make me smile, but I think they should make some REALLY funny stuff, I have a customer who is a total Funny guy, and would like to see something really funny!!

I too would like to see more sets for Men as well as teenage boys and girls. I am having such a difficult time coming up with stamping ideas for teenage boys and male family members it is sad. I am a Girl Guide leader and it would be nice to see some stamps related to that as well. Anything reptile oriented with geckos or something would also be cool for all us reptile lovers.

I would also like a literature themed set, my sister works in a library and I have many friends who are avid readers.

I want another western set, the Cowboy Kid is cute but something a little more mature would be perfect for the men in my life and just for fellow yee-haws!

There is an old set called Flores Misticas that looks very Mexican/Mayan. (I am constantly hunting for it and would love to have it) I love stuff like that and would like to see something else along these lines.

Finally, I really want a stamp set that has various sayings in different languages. (i.e., French, German, Italian, Spanish) I am going to buy the Spanish sets that SU has now but I would also like to see other things. I think this is fun for people who travel, etc.

I would like a travel set, and not like the collagie (is that a word) type, definately a literature set, a stitched or polka dotted alpha, a faux stitching set, a doodle set, a recipe set that doesn't look so outdated, Another dog set, a diva set (like silhouettes of hip looking girls), a faux hodgepodge hardware set, an accessories set for the chef (not sure what, but he needs more to work with!), a ship/sailing set (I know, they retired the last one), definately a drinks set (martinis, margaritas, even beer), a set that I would love and use as frequently as shapes and shadows lol, and like a 30's flapper set.

Ok, maybe it's too late to be posting.

Smile It is fun...

...reading all the ideas. After this list gets really long, will someone send the suggestions along to SU? I looked at the website and while they do not have an online "Suggestion Box" there is an email address on the Contacts page.

I'll second, third or fourth the request for a set relating to books/literature/reading. I'd also like a couple of quotes in that set. Something to be used on a card that accompanies a gift book and something that can be used on bookmarks. To me, this should be in a "sophisticated" style and not a "cartoony" style.

I'd like to see a new wedding set. Again, something more "sophisticated".

I'd love to create a recipe book using the Viola chef so some different foods to put on his platter would be great.

Last year I emailed SU! asking for something for weight loss (scale, "weigh to go", etc.). I'd still like this type of set.

Also, and I think someone mentioned this previously, a set to be used to send encouragment for those suffering from terminal diseases. Get well doesn't work here.

A general good wishes sentiment set would be useful (congrats on your new job, congrats on your success, great news, I'm so happy for you, etc.)

Hi girls...not to hijack the thread, but, as I read through all of the suggestions, I'm seeing that many of them are things that Close To My Heart has.
We've got a cute new birthday sentiment set for the over 50 crowd, some cute little boy sets with machinery, trains, fire engines for that trip they take to the firehouse, for the older boy we have a moto-cross/four wheelin' set, a new snowboarding set, and the usual sports, plus many of the other things you girls are looking for. So, be sure to check out the CTMH catalog also. If you need a url to view the catalog, let me know.

[quote=teenstamper]I think a fun set would be like a rock and roll set. Something with an electric guitar, drum set, keyboard. Myself and lots of people I know are very involved in music, and it would be nice to have a music set. I think teens like myself would love it!

I would definitely like a rock and roll set too!

And a bunco or games set! And a boxing set with a boxer, punching bag, etc.

A boating set ... not sailboats but power boats. (Do we already have or had one?)

I'd love to see a ribbon set, and a cute Greek alphabet! I think I write that on every thread like this, but my sister and her friends are in college and doing the sorority thing and want stationary, and it's IMPOSSIBLE to find the letters for them.

Oh ....there are several I'd like as well!!! A fence set of somekind. Maybe in the jumbo roller family. Like barbed wire, picket fences, board fences ect. .... without the cute flowers. I agree with more teenage sets!!!! A non cartoon graduation set. A girls softball set. Prom..... Homecoming...... New drivers license.....First car....I could really go on forever. I'm a scrapbooker not a card maker so that's the stuff I go for.

On the other issue about religion and the business...I don't think that's the issue here because in my opinion there are far too many witch stamps here. I am a christian and am faithful. I do not buy a lot of halloween sets because of that.

Of course thats just my opinion.

On the literary theme, I would like to see some book plates with a "From the Library of ......", which could be used in books loaned to other people. It would be neat to have several different kinds. These could be either a solid color or "paintable", then run through the Xyron. They would be nice gifts for people who have a lot of books.

I'd like to see more sets of anything that was less cartoony. Too bad that SU can't get the rights to sell House Mouse too. I love House Mouse. Now that's one that's just a dream. My LSS doesn't even have very many HM, Hobby Lobby has the most by me.

This was on an email someone sent me. I liked it so much, I added it to my sig line :O)

I have been requesting a toothfairy stamp set for years. To the point where I hunted down Brent Steele, the head of the art department (?), at convention, 3 years in a row. He said they have thought about it (his dad was a dentist HA!), but decided to go another direction.

GUESS WHAT I ORDERED YESTERDAY?? The toothfairy set from CTMH, AND I AM A TOTAL STAMPIN' UP! SNOB, BUT, I've got to have a toothfairy set.

Someone mentioned wondering what wildlife sets the AU catty has...did anyone know that you can view it online? Just go to the SU customer website and they have three little flags so you can chose US, Canadian or Australian catty and view it. Can only order form the country where you are but at least we can peek!

Also, I forgot...I want more penguins! I LOVE the little penguin in the current Wild About You set but could always use some more! And yes, I love that line about when life hands you lemons, get some salt and call me! funny! Jan
