Default how do they do this

I just received my first ever "stamps by judith" catalog. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!.... But.... how do they color their images? It is all with blender pens? Do they use a watercolor paper? I just don't know how they do it. I am going to work on my first order now with them. Does anybody have any of her stamps they want to trade or sell? pm me

Sorry your aren't getting mine, I love them too much LOL
I have the tree for all seasons and stacks of the stubbies and sticks, they are the best to play with. Make sure you consider getting them, well worth it.
I also have some other stamps of theirs, I just can't remember which ones at the moment as I have so many stamps.
I colour mine in with, H2Os, watercolour pencils, pens, watercolour crayons whatever suits the card I am doing.
Have fun with yours.

If Judith is still using what she was in the past, it was a water-based marker and a Dove blender, I believe. I've met her several times--she is a WONDERFUL lady!--and have one of her frazzled looking cats that she stamped and colored and then signed for me. It's one of my prized possessions!

Anyhow, I've had good luck with the EK success markers on her designs, and also using the Prismacolor/Gamsol technique (see the card with the bear on it in my gallery; the baby card with the pony pull toy is with markers).

LOVE LOVE LOVE her stamps and will keep them forever!

Love my Judith stamps too! If you ever get a chance to go to a stamp/scrapbooking convention where she is going to be...be sure and go!!! She demos all day long and I could stand there all day long and watch. I, too, love the sticks and stubbies. She is going to be here in June for the Great American Scrapbook Convention in our area....yea!!!!!

Thanks for the site--so in order to see all of the stamp images, you have to purchase a catalog?

I think you are right. I have a catalog so I don't use the site except to place an order.

When I saw her at a convention she was using markers. She is an artist so she makes it look so easy. She did some things free hand that I don't think I could do. I love her stamps and her sense of humor. If you want the best deal, it would be buying from her website. On Ebay they sometimes go for much more than her retail amount.

I have used her stamps for quite some time and I love them. I always visit her booth when she attends the convention in our area in California and make a point to buy a few stamps each year. She and her daughter are very talented people.

I have several Judith stamps and sorry, she's one of my favs so I'm not giving them up. If you have a chance try browsing the sites by watercolor artists. The techniques they explain will help you understand how to get the best from your markers, paper, blending techniques, etc. It's not enough to know what they (Judith and others) use but look at the subtle ways they shade, use highlight, etc. Judith also does a lot of her fine details with a pen.

I couldn't paint a watercolor from scratch if my life depended on it, but with practice, I've learned how to shade, blend, when to let the water pool, when to blot, etc. A little research and some practice will have you coloring like a pro no matter what tool you use. I guess I'm old school, but I do better when I understand how to use basic tools instead of buying the latest craze that supposed to make everything work better. More importantly, just have fun.

The last time I was able to see her (which has been couple of years) she was using Tombow (spelling?) markers.
