Default Found It!!-Using Versamark for cleaning stamps

I read somewhere tonight about using the versamark refill for cleaning the black stains on our stamps. I can't find that post anywhere. If anyone knows where it is could you please let me know. They talked about putting the refill all over the stamp and letting it sit all night. Also on the same post there was discussion about sealing the blocks with clear spray paint. Hope someone can help me out. Thanks, Carol

Well, I've never seen a post for cleaning with Versamark. I have seen posts about using YoYo Yellow. Some people have a YoYo just for cleaning off black. I've also seen posts that leaving Versamark on the rubber is damaging. I'm not so good at searching but if I can find some of the threads, I'll edit my post.

Default Orange Clean

There are zillions of ideas for cleaning stamps. Go back to "General Stamping Talk" and in the search box type "cleaning." You'll get more information than you would believe. I just recently decided that the best cleaner is the stuff made of Oranges. And, I have a very cheap little facial brush that turned out to be way too soft to clean my skin, so I figure it's safe to brush the rubber stamps with it.
Made a real boo-boo this afternoon. Instead of the Orange cleaner, I grabbed the "Orange-Glo." It's for polishing wood and is very oily. Took the ink off the stamp just fine. But then I had to use quite a bit of the soapy one to get the oil off. Live and Learn!

Default I found it!

If you go to the members list and click on the member's name "chooch" she has how she used the refill for cleaning. It's in the "General Stamping Talk" section and says "Versa-mark also a cleaner"! I did it last night, let it sit overnight on the rubber and cleaned the ink off with the dabbing of a paper towel. I sprayed the stamps with awesome from the dollar store and with an old fingernail brush and under running water scrubbed and the ink came off. I couldn't believe it. It was Staz on ink too. Gotta try it everyone. Carol
