I just uploaded my first card I've made in over a year, and it seems bland to me. Any suggestions to put some wow into it would be appreciated!!! Thanks! ;)
Funny you should mention ribbon. My husband put a ban on ribbon for our Christmas cards. He says I always use ribbon (and I do) and he has challenged me to NOT use it. BLAH!
I think they're cute, too! Can you layer that Brocade Blue piece on Navy or something...just to make it pop a little? I like Charlee's idea of using ribbon, too. Maybe some brads?

A whole year???? Wow. I can't go but a few weeks before I need to visit my art table. The snowman just lends itself to single layer cards. I thought both cards were cute and left some comments for you. Keep on stamping!
If I am seeing it right, those are both the same card--one is the outside, the other is the inside, right?
It's a very cute idea! Okay, no ribbon, huh? How about what I call "faux ribbon"? Cut some thin strips of navy or black cardstock and run it horizontally along the top and bottom of the blue band across the front of the card.
Or try using some white ink to stamp the little snowflakes on the blue band across the front?
Or a very small touch of red somewhere on the card might make it "pop" a little more--maybe glued behind one or two of the cut out snowmen. Or add three red brads to the card.
These are just some thoughts.
Isn't it great to get back to stamping after being away so long? You'll soon find your creative juices flowing fast again. So glad you shared with us.

No ribbon? Then how about a strip of Sticky Strip along the top and the bottom of your blue layer with some glitter rubbed into it?
Are husbands allowed to put bans on embellishments??? LOL! I agree with adding a layer behind the blue--a darker blue or black even would look good. It's a great card!!
Thank you to all for your suggestions. At my house, husbands are allowed to put a ban on embellishments when their name is going on the card. However, since he has read all the posts, he relinquished the ban and said do what ever it takes to make it look good!!! I'm working on a re-mix for the first card to bring it up to par. Hopefully, round 2 will be better!!! Thanks again! ;)
I really like the purple snowman card--very pretty. But really, all three of them are nice cards! Good job. I got a chuckle that your hubby took away the "ban" on ribbon!!
I think the only things I would do on the blue card is ink some edges to give a little pop and add an arc of sparkle glitter between the snowman's hands as if he threw the snow and were playing in it. He just seems so happy there. Like the purple ones too - just really a blue kind of girl.
