I NEED IDEAS FOR MY XMAS CARD!
Ok........I know it's early, but I hate waiting 'til the last minute, so I'm brainstorming now. I want to include a picture with my Christmas card this year, and was hoping someone would come up with something clever! The only thing I've thought of so far is to incorporate a wallet size photo with a tag of some sort.
So I turn it over to you now. What's your clever solution? Thanks for commenting! |
When I want to include pictures with my cards, I make a "pocket" on the inside of my card and place the picture and a tag in it. Not the most clever idea, but it gets the job done ;)

Last year I did the same thing. I made the pictures 3x5 and put them on a tag that fit into the front pocket.

There was a Christmas card VSN challenge last night. Maybe you'll get some ideas here:

I like those ideas! I'd love to include a picture on my Christmas cards too this year, so i'm going to watch this thread for ideas. For the two of you who have put them on a tag inside-- do you have any pictures you can show us?

Thanks for the comments and link! I think the tag thing will be it, now to decide which images to use!

I started my Christmas cards TODAY!!! Here it is not even July and I am already getting wierd. :)
Last year I made over 300 cards so I try to do a bunch of different designs so I do not get bored. Today I was using my Silent Night. Tomorrow I will use Frosty. I will be doing Christmas cards till the new catty comes in. Otherwise I would be a complete nut case. |

I've been thinking about how to include a wallet-size photo in my Christmas card, too. I haven't tried this yet, but I've been imagining making a CS frame around the wallet photo and using the slit punch on each side of the frame to slide the photo onto it. Then, I'll probably mount the frame on the inside of the card. We'll see how it goes...

I have made photo cards for the past couple of Christmases. I generally do a simple stamped design on the outside and print the verse, greeting, etc. on the inside, leaving a space to sign. (Family, etc. get a handwritten message on the back.) The first year I did a gate-fold card, printed everything on the inside right and left flaps, then adhered the photo in the middle section using the photo corners that you moisten first. Last year I did a landscape style card with a left-hand fold, printed on the inside right, then used self-adhesive photo corners to adhere the photo on the inside left.
*I highly recommend the self-adhesive photo corners! My theory on this is that hopefully it helps the recipient realize that they are supposed to take the photo out and keep it. |
