Default I need black brads

I think I have my x-mas cards figured out and I need 2 black brads for each one. I saw that paperwishes sells them online. I have never ordered from them. Has anyone ordered from them? Or does anyone know if AC Moore or Michaels has them?

Paperwishes is a good company. Also Oriental Trading has lots of brads. There are even some websites that only sell brads. AC Moore and Michaels more than likely have black brads. Just depends on if some came in and bought every package 10 minutes before you arrive... KWIM?

I bought a package of mixed black brads and white brads at Joann. And I just ordered some patterned black-and-white brads from Oriental Trading Company.

You can also color them with a sharpie.

I did- thats how I know they would work but it fell off. I used a versamark pad. I pushed the brad into and dipped into EP. It looked great until it kinda slid off. Did I do something wrong?

It really works!! I have done brads, clips, ribbon slides and the tabs off of drink cans. Sharpies come in so many colors you can usually have matching hardware. I used a yellow sharpie on a clip and it looked similar to gold. Try it!!!

I buy white brads and then can color them with a sharpie. I have yet to have the color of the sharpie rub off.

I think you can emboss them without using any ink. Just heat up the brad and stick it in the embossing powder. (Then heat the powder again on the brad.)

Although if you are doing a lot of Christmas cards, buying them already black is probably a better option.

I got some at Paper Wishes - they had great service. I've been more than satisfied with the stuff I got from them. They also have a great storage unit for brads, eyelets, etc. It's a flat metal box about 1" tall that has 20 round storage things that have plastic lids so you can see what's in them. Each holds 100 brads, eyelets, etc. I think it was $6.95. I love it!

Isn't that how it is - when you really want a particular color then your store doesn't carry it, but you know other stores do!?! If you don't find it at a store near you, you can heat emboss it, without any ink. You will need plier or tweezers, though! Heat it a bit with your heat gun, dip it into your powder, then heat it a bit more. Doesn't take much and mine didn't peel off or slide off. Good luck! Be sure to share your cards with us when you're done!

If you are sending them in the mail be careful about doing it the embossed way. A few years ago I embossed my own for some invitations and every person said that the invitations were beautiful but the brads had chips of the color missing and in the rest of the envelope. I will NEVER do it that way again. I just prefer to buy the brad already colored. I saw a website that had brads in many colors. I will see if I can find the link and post it.

Here you go. I thought the price was pretty reasonable. I don't know what the shipping is, though. You might want to get more than just this pack. http://www.paperwishes.com/products/80958

Good luck!

The craft instructor at my LSS told us that we could color brads and staples with Staz-on since it's a permanent ink like Sharpie!
