Love this in brights! It's always surprising how different a design can look in different colorways. It's a whole new feel to the card.

Thank you, Karen. It was Linda's idea to use a wreath. I didn't have a suitable wreath so suggested that we try the heart. I really like how it turned out.

Linda, it looks like you've got a lot of anniversary cards to give out! I only make about three anniversary cards each year, so it's fun to see all these different designs. Loving the heart motifs.

Oh, I think the heart die is even better than a regular wreath, because it's unexpected. Cutting it in green makes it the perfect base for those flowers. It's a beautiful interpretation of Linda's design idea, with a twist!

I hope your second vaccination goes well Linda. I had my first one today and have had no problems at all. Not even a sore arm! I was glad to finally get my shot because it looked like it wouldn't be for another month or so, due to vaccine shortages. Just think about the fact that you will be safer once you get all the vaccines and your body can fight against getting the virus. Hugs.

Well, Linda, let me help you with your worries.
First, I am curious where you got the information that you are worrying about. Sometimes, if you get incorrect information or if the information is exaggerated, you are worrying for no good reason.

You believe that "a lot" of people are getting "sick".
So, how many is "a lot"?
And, what do they get? Is a tiny bit sore arm considered "sick"? Is that really anything to worry about? You said your arm was sore the first time. How sore was it? Were you unable to move the arm for days and could not eat because it hurt too much to move your arm? If it was that bad, it would be concerning. But if it was only a little bit tender on the spot where the needle went in and only if you were touching that spot with your hand to check to see if it hurt. That is basically NO PROBLEM.

The common after effects of the shot are:
arm sore -but it isn't so sore that you can't move your arm
fatigue- feeling tired but not so tired that you have to stay in bed all day
headache - but not like a migraine or anything terrible, maybe just take an aspirin or rub your neck and face muscles to relieve the tension
fever - you might feel hot but it doesn't last long and you don't need to do anything except drink water and rest for a day
chills- this often happens with a fever, just get in bed to stay warm, rest and drink water

That's it. Not really like being "sick" more like inconvenient discomfort that goes away quickly.

A very few people who have had severe allergic reaction in the past to other types of vaccinations and medications may have immediate strong allergic reaction to the COVID vaccination. That is why the nurse will have you sit for about 15 minutes after the shot. They will be observing to see if you have that kind of severe reaction. It comes on very quickly and they take care of it right away.

If you have never had SEVERE reactions to other shots, it is pretty unlikely that you will have a reaction to COVID vaccination. So, since you have never had SEVERE reaction that required hospital or emergency care, you are going to be just fine.

Is it necessary to worry about inconvenience? Nope, just take it in stride, it will not prevent you from doing your regular activities.

Hi Linda,
Dr.Sonja has a lot of good points that address your worries. I want to point out as well that side effects like a fever or muscle aches are just signs that your body is working correctly and gearing up its immune response. Of course, not that many people even get a fever. If you do have side effects, they almost always go away with no problem, and are mild. Side effects are not the same as getting "sick", so you might want to try thinking about it differently if you can.
This is an excerpt from an article about the possible side effects.

"Dr. Amesh Adalja, senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, agrees. “Fever is a normal side effect of vaccination and is something to expect after you get this vaccine,” Adalja, who may be getting the vaccine as soon as next week, tells Yahoo Life. “It is a sign of the immune system reacting to the vaccines, so it’s a sign that the vaccine is performing its intended function.”

So think of mild side effects as a good thing that lets you know your body is doing the work it should. When I got my vaccination, there were people there in their 80's and 90's who were so relieved to get it. They know that getting COVID at their age, or with underlying health conditions as you have, could be extremely serious. One couple there talked about the fact that they had no vaccines against disease when they were growing up, so they feel really fortunate.

I would set aside that day to relax and do something enjoyable after you get your shot. Chat with your friends online or play a game. Listen to music....or whatever you enjoy. I think you'll do just fine in the end. I was a little bit nervous about getting my vaccination too, so you aren't alone. Anything that's new can be a little scary, but the benefits of getting it are much more than not. Hang in there and try not to worry too much.
