Hi Linda,
I saw on another thread that today (or yesterday?) is your birthday. Happy birthday to you! Our entire state was shut down due to COVID when I had my birthday so we couldn't even go to a restaurant. Good thing I don't mind a very low key birthday celebration...because it was definitely low key!
Even my grandkids had to skip birthday parties this past year because of COVID, but I know things will improve eventually.
Hope you were able to enjoy your special day.

Karen, which city do you live in? Are we within range for a cup of coffee when all this COVID stuff gets under control?

Hi Sonja,
I'm over in the East Bay, in El Sobrante. Not real close to you, but definitely within reach. I often visit and stay overnight with my daughter and her family in Livermore, and that's halfway to Modesto right there. Something to think about when life returns to normal!

WOW!! This is amazing. Beautiful coloring and I am loving the netting and shimmer. When I first glanced at it, I thought it was a pre-printed image by Graphic45.

Hi Linda,
I will be mailing my cards to you tomorrow or the next day. I'm also including a few cards for ladies, that you can give to church friends as needed. I'll let you know when I make it to the post office, so you can start watching for my package.
It was fun making cards that I normally don't make (for the boys and young men). Most of the cards I send are for women, but I have a lot of masculine stamp sets so it all worked out.
Have a great week!

I was trying to make it in pretty script so I did cut and paste from a Word document. The font did not transfer over but the color did. I don't know. Since the site changes it doesn't seem like we have as many color choices, can't change the size of font and can't pick a different font style.

Also, I'm missing the LIKE button. It was nice to click to just say OK or I agree without making a whole new post comment.

Yep, that East Bay traffic is a killer. Livermore-Tracy might be a compromise there, although there aren't any restaurants at the top of the Altamont (here's how old I am-one of our friends was at the famous concert and a Hell's Angel biker ran over his sandwich before the concert started. It's a fun story for the grandkids)

Linda, you don't have a drawl- you sound just regular. Do you think I have an accent?

My big dog Bert went to the vet yesterday and had his teeth cleaned and his ears cleaned. He is feeling a little sluggish today, plus, it is raining so we don't let him go out to play in the mud. He would be a big old mess if he was running in the rain. Stinky, too.

I like making coffee cards - I like Starbucks, too.
There are lots of male birthday cards in the package I have to send to you, so don't worry about the men at church. I will pack it up tonight. I have been just delayed on it but its time to get it in the mail.

Oh man, it's kind of like being at Woodstock, but the only thing your grandkids know about it is that someone grabbed your bag of chips or something, ha! With what happened there, the sandwich thing is probably the memory many people would prefer! My daughter lived in Mountain House for a year when she first got married, so I got used to driving the pass back then.

Sounds like a day for dog business. I gave our small dog, Toby, a bath and haircut tonight. With all the rain we've been having, he was muddy. Even found a tiny earthworm floating in the water while I was bathing him. He must have picked it up out in the yard.
Our vet has been on limited hours due to COVID, and it's been a pain because I can't even speak to the vet in person. Almost hard to remember what normal life felt like sometimes!

That would be funny to see you stamping with a drawl Linda! Wonder what that would look like (smile). I've lived in California my entire life so I'm sure I have a standard West Coast accent, if there is a such a thing. I've only been to Texas twice. Once was for business in Dallas, and once was driving through the panhandle. Didn't get to see much of the state at all.
I have been organizing my craft room and stamps this week because I realized I couldn't ever find the right sentiments. It's frustrating when I know I have a certain image or sentiment, but can't find it.

Since I have been making so many birthday cards I just stuck the "Happy Birthday" stamps on a sheet of acetate. That way I have the choices handy instead of looking through all the stamps. I keep my stamps by brand in those photo storage boxes on a book case.

Linda, would you like me to put in an extra deer head card design for one of the young men on the list? I have an extra one and can include it. Then you can use one of Sonja's guy cards for the other one. Just let me know.

I keep my birthday stamp sets in a clear bin on a shelf, so birthday sentiments aren't as problematic. It's the sentiments that I want for specific images that seem to always hide themselves so well. For instance, I made a slew of gnome cards this week, and knew I had a sentiment or two about forests, or magic...but who knows where they are.
Sympathy, Get Well, and Retirement sentiments often come in mixed sets, and I can't ever find those either. I actually ended up finally setting up an spreadsheet with Theme, Mfg,and Set Name. Just set it up four days ago so we'll see how it works. At the very least, it made me feel useful!
I've been making a lot of birthday cards too lately. Many of them are for Linda, but I am also on the Birthday RAK list, so I send out about 5-6 a month for that. Makes it easier when I'm not jumping back and forth between themes and occasions.

Our vet has made some social distancing adjustments. They don't do appointments anymore. You drive up, phone them from the parking lot, give them the pet name and reason for visit and then you are on a wait list. When it is your turn they call you in the car and ask you to meet them at the door. One person in a mask with the pet. They take you straight to an exam room with the pet. After the vet sees you. you are escorted out. That way you don't have contact with any people except the person letting you in the door and the vet.

Our vet doesn't let us enter the building at all. They come out to the car and take the pet. It's difficult, because I'm used to being able to discuss things with the vet, and ask questions etc. This way, I never see the vet and can only talk by phone after the appt. I know they're trying to be as safe as possible, but it is frustrating. On the other hand, having to drive to the vet and get on a wait list sounds terrible too. What if you have somewhere to be...such as work? Lots of big and small inconveniences these days make me happy that I'm retired.

Linda, are you able to go to church this Sunday, or are they still closed down because of COVID cases? I remember you mentioning that recently. I'm glad you got your first vaccination.
