Can anyone request a RAK?

I have sent a few RAKs but don't belong to the user group. Can I still request one? My girlfriend's sister was in a horrible wreck in October. She was given a 4% chance of surviving, then when she did survive, drs warned her family she was likely to be a vegetable. She stayed in a coma for 2 months and then started responding to stimuli! Again the drs were cautious, but she is making gains every week. On Christmas she managed to say her husband's name!! What a gift for the whole family. Just yesterday she was moved to a rehab center. This lady keeps fighting! She has periods of lucidity but it will still be a very long haul for her and the family, with an uncertain outcome. The family is staying strong thanks to faith and support. I am hoping a few cards can help, too.

Julia, I am sending a card to Renae today! I hope she gets better very soon. You are a very thoughtful friend to think of her and RAK's are always okay to request on SCS! This is a great group of women (mostly, sorry Daven!) Laurie

As long as anyone can send a card I would love to send Renea one. That is what I love about this website. It gives us an opportunity to do a little something for someone we don't know. It will be in the mail tomorrow.
