Default how do you set it up?

I would some ideas and photos as to how other set up their displays at craft shows !!!
I did my 1st one yesterday, and am signed up for another the end of Nov.
I found a wrought iron stand with 2 shelves at the thrift store, I had that in one corner with notecubes and matching candles on it. Then i found 2 wrought iron plate type stands at the Dollar tree. I used those for standing comp books in, next to the shelf. Then I displayed matching cards around it.
I had the rest of my cards in white plastic baskets that I found at Walmart, by catergory.

The craft show that is coming up is much bigger than the one yesterday. So, I will much more stuff ready for it.But that leads me to more display dilemas. Another question about display is....
If I group a few coordinating things together here and there on the table, do I just put the rest of the stuff in baskets?? Like a basket for comp books, one for notepads, etc. And let the people sort thru them like that??
Any help would be great!

I bought some paintable window shutters at Home Depot (about $25 a pair, I think), some wooden clothes pins, and a crackling kit. I crackled the shutters and clothes pins and I use the pins to hold my cards to the shutters. They hold the cards up right and its a really cute and unique way to display them! E-mail me if you need a picture!!

Everything I've read always talks about having things at varying heights to add interest. I have a couple of plastic milk crates that I place on the table, have a piece of wood on top of that to make a "shelf" and then cover it with a tablecloth so it is another tier which brings things closer to eye level.
I have also painted paper mache boxes the same shade as my tablecloths to place on lower parts of the table to raise a basket of whatever up.
I have struggled with what to use for my card displays. In other places, I've read people who use actually wire card racks and others who take a display board and (not sure how) configure it so you can hang cards in bags.
I also did a lot of research when choosing the color of my table coverings. There is a new interactive color website that talks about what emotions are evoked with what colors. I'll try to find the link and add it.
I've also seen foldable full height bakers racks (but those are expensive and I'm not quite ready to buy one of those yet) but someone who sold buy/sell, not handmade stationary at a fair I was doing had one of those and it looked pretty neat. I didn't get a chance to ask her about it though because she was pretty snooty!!

I was actually very lucky...My dad is a custodian at a local high school, and he came home with these really cool racks for me and my mom...They have very narrow shelves, with backs on them, I think they were probably used for pamphlets? and there is even a bar that lays down on top of them so they can' t blow away....There are like 6 shelves in all, I think...We are gonna use them for a show in 3 weeks....I am glad to have something new!

I did a craft fair at my church last year but I can't figure out how to upload pictures from my computer to show you. Does the pic have to be somewhere on the internet inorder to upload it?

I agree with getting things at different levels too. I hadn't thought about the milk crates and then putting the table cloth over them. Good idea. I have heard about people having "actual" card display things too, but they are more than I want to spend right now. I have to see if this is something I am going to do again or not, before I make a big investment in display unit.
What color table cloth have you been using? This has been a stumper for me too!
Amy, I am not sure how to upload photos here either?? But I see that you have a gallery, how about putting your display photos in your gallery?? That would great help!

Thanks Lalalaur for that idea. Last night after all the SCSrs went to bed, I put together an album. I included more craft fair pictures than anyone will ever want to see. Here's the link.

2004 Craft Fair by Amy05 at Splitcoaststampers

Unfortunately my dreams of selling, selling, selling were much greater than my wallet at the end of the day. I brought home about $100 (after taking out the portion to pay out to the church and not including my table fee). Fortunately, my 97 year old grandma invited me to sell my leftovers at her retirement home craft fair-for free! These people do not get out much to shop and always have children and grandchildren to buy for. They were wonderfu! I came home with over $250. What was left, I traded away in swaps or gave as gifts myself. The church craft fair was eight hours. Grandma's was two. Go figure!

Wow,
isn't it weird how things sell and don't sell?? You had a great turn out with your Grandma's craft fair. I would make sure that you are signed up to be there next year!!!
Thanks so much for the photos of your display and for taking the time to get them loaded here. There are very helpful and your stuff is great!!
Good luck with craft fairs this year!!
I think you have the wrong link listed for getting there.
This link takes you to the page to set up an album. I think this is the right link...

Laurie,

I went with a navy blue tablecloth. It has a slight ribbing to it so the texture is subtle but nice. I chose blue because it turns out that it has been shown that blue is the most popular favorite color. I figured maybe it would draw more people in. I figured too that it wouldn't be too seasonal if I wanted to do fairs at other times besides the holidays.

Thanks Laura,
good idea about staying with some more non-seasonal. I was debating between black, navy or white??
I have been seeing more black and navy. haven't heard so much about white???

Smile a couple of older threads...

I found a couple of (older) threads which might be of interest to all of you who are doing/considering craft fairs:Here's an interesting photo in Carol Shafer's Gallery: Craft Fair Display.

And thank you, Amy05, for your 2004 Craft Fair display pics!.

Hi! I am doing a craft show in 2 weeks. I would LOVE to see your photos, but due to the website revamping it wont let me in. Cuz I"m not a member. :(
But I think you are very kind to share your ideas with others.
