Is it okay to make up stickers that can be adhered to the back of a card with the copyright info for a certain company instead of handwriting/stamping the copyright info onto the card?
One probably does not have copyright stamps for all the different companies and I don't want to ruin the back of the card with my handwriting of the copyright info.
Really, the best thing is to ask the company. SU, for example, requires one of their stamps. The rest that I've seen just say to note it on the card and aren't specific as to how it's done. Some companies, Cornish Heritage Farms for example, sometimes has the copyright stamp as part of a set and you can use that if you wish.
Yes, I would ask the individual companies too. It is so neat when the company has a stamp you can buy (like SU!) or when it comes with the actual set (like Flourishes LLC, Stampington & Co, Stampendous, Angi B & Co).
But so many of them don't and just want an acknowledgement on the back - for those who say just a hand-written acknowledgement would be enough, I've been thinking of just making a bunch of custom stamps with " Company's_name" on it. (The copyright symbol can be made by holding down the <alt> button and then pressing 0169) I get my custom clear stamps from http://imaginestamps.com/custom-stamps.html
and they are about $2 each, and shipping and handling is $2.50.
I haven't done this yet, but I am really close to it, because I don't like my handwriting either. Also, because I don't always want to have this info in black (which is the colour of the pens I have)... I want to be able to stamp this information in whatever colour would go well with the back of the card.
It sounds like a good idea. I would much rather that to companies who make stamps that you have to use! I am all about neatness and a bunch of differnet company stamps on the back is not going to look all that great! I was thinking of typing/writing it small and neat on a little sticker to stick on a card (unless the company requires their stamp!)

just a good excuse to be creative about "how" to do it when you have individual stamps to use!;)

Thank you so much for that little tidbit of information. It feels like an amazing revelation to me and i am so excited by just a small thing!!

I haven't started selling cards yet, but I always personalize my cards on the back, usually by running the cardstock through the printer before I assemble the card. If and when I do start trying to sell, I will probably add the copyright info that way too

I know that SU!'s Angel policy says you have to use their copyright stamp, but from a strictly legal standpoint, I wonder if you actually have to. I bet you could type, print, or write the information on the back of the card, and it would be perfectly legal and would not violate their copyright. I mean, I can't believe a bunch of legislators in Washington wrote a law just for stamping.
I'm just pushing the envelope.

The legislature in Utah might have passed a law regarding Stampin' Up! copyright stamps. I don't know anything about Utah. Shelley may have lobbiests and stuff.

in case you're interested, i've posted a chart in the downloads forum with the angel policies of many rubber stamp companies - if they have one. the details are very different from company to company, so you may want to check it out here!
