My work has a military support group & I was told about this website yesterday. You can adopt a soldier or platoon. You can agree to just write one letter or card once a week or send one letter & a care package once a month. You can do this for a soldier or platoon. Very cool. I filled out the application to be a pen pal with a soldier since I'm not sure I can commit to the packages every month when money gets tight.
A manager at our work is doing this. She said a volunteer calls you & will go over the application to make sure you are serious about your commitment. Then you get your soldier/platoon. She said these are soldiers that don't normally get much from home.
Sounds like a great bunch to do regular RAKs with if anyone is interested.
