Question Art of the Orient symbol meaning?!?

I have the Art of the Orient SU set from 2004-2005 page 165... I haven't used it much since someone asked what the symbols mean? :confused: There are 2 in the set- one circular one and one character (Chinese?). Can anyone help?!?!

Thanks!

Cat

Hi Cat,
the one on the left is just a circular symbol, not a word character;
the one of the right is a chinese character I am not familiar with,
but will ask someone at school/work. It may take a few days,
please be patient,
it may have to wait til labor day, i have some friends coming for labor day bbq, someone may know. if i have a chance, I will ask my mom in a few days.

hth, gail

That much I knew, but I also wanted to know what it signifies, I looked online and saw it on a lot of other items as well. And after being in China, I know that everything signifies something!

Thanks for any help you can give:!:

An old thread here said that the asian character means "longevity".
No mention of the circular symbol.

I went onto SU's site, found their phone number and called. The woman there didn't know either but said she'd find out and email me! So hopefully this will work! I'll post what I find out so that if anyone else is wondering, they will know for sure!!! Thanks everyone for your responses.

Quick reply! SU says the circular thing is just an artist's rendition of Chinese art, the symbol means Happiness!

Now we know! Thanks for the help everyone!
