How much paper do you have?
In reading the Achilles heel thread, I was reminded of a thread from many years ago about how much paper you have. I couldn't find the thread, so I thought it would be fun to do it again.
So, how much designer paper do you have? How much card stock do you have?
For dsp, I probably have 9 or 10 of those pads from the big box stores. I used some of the one sided thinner paper as bulletin board backgrounds. Then I'd say I have about 40 packs of Stampin Up dsp. Some are partially used; some are unopened.
For card stock, I have 4 three drawer iris cart type sets full of paper. I also have 4 magazine holders with cardstock. Then there's the overflow. If I stacked it up and measured it, I'd say I have another 18 inches of cardstock on hand.
All together? I'm not sure. I was thinking about how much it all weighs! 200 pounds? It's a lot of paper!

I couldn't stop laughing when I read this topic! I think if you can count how much you have you might just need more! Too much is never enough!

Well, let's see...I have a dozen 6x6 dsp pads purchased at big box craft stores. I have bought many packs of dsp from SU over the years but I have opened it and store it all in an Iris cart made for 12x12 paper. Plus, there are many pieces of 12x12 dsp bought at the big box with coordinating 12x12 solids that I "just have to have"! So maybe 4 inches worth of 12x12.
I have almost every color solid card stock from the core group of colors in 8.5x11 from SU.
Plus a pack of brushed gold, silver and copper. One assortment pack of an In-color group.
Then there are the various types of white and ivory papers. Because we all know one type and weight of white card stock is NEVER enough!!
That's the long answer. The short answer is enough to last me a few years, and probably more than I will ever use! Yet, I continue to buy more...

See I confessed already..
If I had to guesstemate... 12 by 12 dp is about 3ft high if I was to put it all together,.....8by8 is maybe a 1 ft high, 6x6 is urm about 5ft high that is not including plain 12x12, 8x8,8x11,6x6 cardstock

Woah! I feel better already I have kept my 12 x 12 deep down to one of those plans I comes from Michaels that is like 3 inches deep. I don't buy much because I know I don't use it much. I love it! But I just don't use it much.
Solid cardstock is a bit different... I have no more than one of any given colour at a time but I do have a lot of colours. StampinUp mostly and staples heavy white and vanilla.
Still though, compared to lots of stampers, I keep a smaller stash.

All my DSP is 6X6 and fits in a cardboard box the size of a shoebox. (On the other hand, I have over fifty background stamps, most from Impression Obsession, which run $13 a pop, so you do the math and please don't tell me what you come up with).
I keep about forty colors of heavy cardstock in colors that I like in hanging file folders (almost all of it is PTI because I love their palette, with a few Gina K), and about twenty SU colors that I particularly like, including of course WW and VV. I've got one three foot long shelf where I keep backup packs so I don't run out of certain colors (like Aqua Mist, without which everything would grind to a halt.)
You're only asking about DSP and cardstock, right? I don't have to confess to the many various types, brands and weights of watercolor paper and bristol board and the two drawers full of white and colored vellum, do I? !
Paper really isn't where I go overboard. Now, ink....

I laughed when I saw this. I had a feeling we would re-visit this! You guys are cracking me up!
More than I should is the short answer. - 1 ream ea of white, ivory and black 110 Michaels Recollections for bases
- couple of small packs of alcohol paper, vellum, and 2 WC pads
- 3 vertical mag racks for solids, incl foils, mirror card, glitter paper, shimmer, etc I just got 3 6x6 pads of core'indinations I would like to try with embossing folders.
- DP is my flaw..I have 5-6 of the 12 x 12 accordian cases divided by subject.
- I have some pre-cut color postcards that I pick up when on deep discount at my LSS. That's a shoebox.
- 1 large box with any cards not A-2, so A6, A7, specialty folds, etc
Would I have more if I had room? Probably a little more solids. I have already purged a lot of paper. But I am buying differently now. It seems to be in waves....for whatever reason my DP sources tend to all have sales at the same time. Then I wont buy a piece for months.
My saving grace is I dont like mixed pads. I will like 1 pattern...maybe 3, and not the rest. So I am not tempted with those.

I have a feeling I would win this with the most paper! Last count I had over 800 6x 6 pads and I have added many more since then. As far as other card stocks and dsp... I have it in 3 rooms and many pics in my gallery from the last go round on this question. I have added quite a bit since then too. I have given away many 30 gallon tubs of paper too!

Wow!! But you make huge amounts of cards too so it makes sense that you have to have materials to work with. I operate on a much smaller scale!

I feel like this is a question that should never be asked...kinda up there with how old you are, how much do you weigh, etc...

Paper hording is my part time job
My paper collection is a problem for sure because I can't seem to stop buying paper and cardstock. I love it so much. About a year ago my SIL who is a teacher and I got into a discussion about who has more paper. She is located in MA and I am here in Jersey. We used our phones to prove to each other who has more. I won for sure. I even have more than what this pic shows. And what is really sad .... when I get down to the last few sheets of a favorite paper I will not use it. No I scan it in with my Brother SnC and then I print it. Really peeps this whole paper thing started with me in Kindergarten. Here is the pic I sent to my SIL:
Oh yeah, yesterday I placed my SU order for holiday 2016, can you guess what I ordered!! LOL

I am impressed you can keep track of that many!
But as said, you may be the most productive SCS peep, so not really surprising you have that much.

Believe it or not I actually have a lot less paper than I used to have. I realized that I was collecting more than using so I rarely buy colored cardstock or DSP as I'm making myself use what I have. I know I'm making progress because I actually have an empty 12x12 tray and I have 4 other empty trays in storage. It's a real struggle not to buy paper and the Expo is coming to town this fall and that will be my downfall (sigh)

Oh boy.........I have 25 of those IRIS bins (I think they are about 3 1/2" deep. They are completely filled (and at least organized by subject) and then I have a 6 drawer rolling case and a 8" deep file filled with cardstock. I have made a vow though to use all the retired SU Christmas papers on my personal cards this year to use it up.

I have most of the SU c.s. plus 3 -12x12" plastic containers and then a big cubby hole filled with more 12x12 and lots of 6x6......It is too much. I am using the dsp but at a pretty slow rate. So, when I look at papers to buy, I say no to myself. New concept, I know, lol.....

Wow, I thought I had a lot, but after reading through this thread, I barely have any. HAHAHA, let me tell that to my DH!! Really, in comparison, I don't have that much.
DH always says I have too much stuff. He thinks I have too much paper, tools and gadgets and embellishments. Then I tell him about Splitcoast and show him a few pictures, and he just walks away shaking his head.
He's not a hobbyist, so he doesn't understand.
My folks had all kinds of hobbies, and my Dad loved the tools of his hobbies too. He had a lot of stuff too. He had to have the right things on hand when he needed it. It's natural for me to have the same habits.

I went looking for your pictures. I found your revamped craft room with the white drawers. Is that where your paper is?
At this point, are you still buying paper, or using your stash?

Not as much as I use to have, but still too much. Card stock about 12 inches. Patterned paper possibly an inch. Working on it.

Way too much. I was good about not buying any for a long time but I have fallen off the wagon. I have two file size boxes for SU! card stock and 11 mostly full Cropper Hopper 12x12 paper holders for DSP and 12x SU! card stock. That is after purging big time twice in the past few years. More than I can use in my lifetime.

Since the subject is all about how much paper everyone has stashed away, I thought that I would throw out this info. On September 17th in Appleton, Wi. The Paper Cut has their annual warehouse sale. Loads of paper, cardstock, pre-cut cards, vellum, envelopes, just too much to really list. The Paper Cut also has their own line of dies as well.

I have nothing compared to the rest of you. I have a pack of most all SU colors of card stock and one small crate of DSP and one small crate 6x6 pads. Amber has enough to open three stores! Wow! I looked through all your pictures, Amber. I knew you had a lot, but the pictures overwhelmed me! I would crown you queen of paper supplies! I just ordered the serene scenery 6x6 pad from SU because I got one last month and loved it!

You win, hands down! It's all so nicely organized!
So, are you still buying, or just using? I'm guessing you stocked up on SU cardstock before the price went up.
Did you just write with a marker on the edge of the pads to label them? Great way to see at a glance what it is.

I need to finish writing on the spines of my 6x6 pads. They are so easy to find when properly labeled. I have more but didn't take pics of them all. I have stopped buying paper now.

Hi Amber, Love your pictures! I had to show the Hubs your pictures, Now when he says something about my paper stash all I plan to say is "just remember Amber's pictures" That should quiet him down a bit for sure. LOL Enjoy all that crafty good paper stash you have collected.
