How much do you plan to spend on your first new catty order?

Will you go all out and get a Level 3 hostess set for yourself? Or hold back and only spend a modest $25? Or will you fall somewhere in between?

I plan to spend $300 of my saved money to get a Level 2 set and all the goodies I can find. How about you???

Cassandranet 06-15-2005 08:42 AM

Of course, I don't PLAN on spending very much...but sometimes my plans go awry! :)

jdarnall2001 06-15-2005 08:46 AM

I have $250 saved right now to spend on my first new catty order.

AshleyAnne 06-15-2005 08:48 AM

I'm planning on spending over $400 on my first order. I need to purchase markers, spots and pastels in the new colors. Plus pick up the couple of new color ink pads and paper that I didn't pre-order. And then there's all the new accessories and stamp sets that I'm sure I won't be able to live without.

Since I was unable to go to convention this year, I'm spending half of the money I set aside for that. The other half will stay in savings for next year's convention. See... I am trying to "save" money!;)

tiki.nz 06-15-2005 08:55 AM

I plan on auctioning off all 7 kids and selling the farm. I'd sell the old boy too be I'm the only one silly enough to take him, lol.

MonTigg 06-15-2005 09:00 AM

$400 so I can get the special hostess set!

carlacathey 06-15-2005 09:10 AM

A LOT! I can't wait to see all the new accessories, I'm sure that I'll spend a bunch there. Needless to say I'll be ordering new stamp sets. I'm an instant gratification girl and since I don't spend a lot on myself otherwise I feel fully justified to go crazy once a year!

sluman 06-15-2005 09:13 AM

I'm planning on spending around $500. I have a feeling there will be lots and lots of awesome new stuff that I'll just have to have!

stampcrazygirl 06-15-2005 09:14 AM

I'm in a stamp club and July is my month to be hostess! Lucky me!!! I put $1 to $149 because it just depends on how much the other orders come to and how much free stuff I will get!

Patra 06-15-2005 10:04 AM

Well...I'm not going to convention this year, so I've put back $1000.00 for new stamps and accessories. I know that seems like a lot, but I've really kept down my spending this year. I probably won't spend it all at once, but it looks like with the new Watercolor Crayons, the Hodgepodge kits, and new color stuff (markers, eyelets, spots, pastels, etc.) it won't take very long to spend a lot!

rawbanana 06-15-2005 10:17 AM

I am thinking maybe $100 but I may wait until Aug and order enough so that it can go in as a show....we'll have to see what the new catty holds, but I am really liking the ideas of the watercolor crayons!

Anna=)

mamakimberly 06-15-2005 10:24 AM

$200-ish :)

jbalcer 06-15-2005 10:26 AM

I have no willpower. I'll place around a $500 order before convention. . . and who knows what I will need *after*. . . .

corids 06-15-2005 10:31 AM

I'll be spending $500+ .. I've been saving change since Jan. and have lots of that.. having a yard sale.. selling old sets... so I will go hog wild when I get that baby in my hands

baabteach 06-15-2005 10:34 AM

I'm so excited. I'm a preschool teacher and today as end of the year gifts I received $150. of Stampin Up gift certificates! I have a party booked for July 8th and a fellow teacher is coming with her $100 gift certificate to use there. So, before anyone else orders, I am up to $250. We'll see what I spend after that!

Candles and Stamps 06-15-2005 10:40 AM

Well, I'm new to Stampin Up and I'm not a demonstrator so I don't get the deals most of you get - I'll be spending very little maybe one new ink pad and cardstock or set of stamps. $1000 I could only dream of that.

We've been going through a bit of a rough patch and the money just isn't there anymore. I'm thinking of joining a stamp club so I can be a hostess for one month and get in on some of the specials.

cindy_canada 06-15-2005 10:43 AM

I plan to sign up in July, so with the Starter kit alone, I'll be spending a couple of hundreds for sure!

Cindy

jeanstamping2 06-15-2005 10:50 AM

$$?

Well I know that this post was for the SU catalog...

But I am a Demo for TAC and I am spending around $150.00 on new stamps. Because most of my stamps have just retired and as a Demo we can not use them for demo's

Can't wait till new Catalogs are HERE!......
Are they here yet?

gv-copperdog 06-15-2005 11:32 AM

Well, the new catalog always comes out just in time for my birthday!!! I am spending $200 - that's a lot for me right now. We too are going through a pretty rough time, but having just watch my "littlest boy" graduate from private school, we'll be doing much better!!!! I know if I were a demo I'd be spending about $500!

I am too...and my girls are already just antsy to get the new catty in hand. They AVERAGE about 100 per person...my last order, just last week was a level 3 (because of the retirement list).

I had planned on getting at LEAST a level 2 order just myself.....but seeing as I drew the lucky month, I'm totally psyched!!

I'm ordering markers, the new spots....and some rubbah! And embellishments...and...and.....

I am almost peeing I'm so excited! LOL!!

mamaof3insd 06-15-2005 11:45 AM

i would LOVE to spend $500 + but i would probably only be able to spend around $200-300.-IF i'm lucky...we're in a tight spot right now for money, so i may have to wait...lets hope not! i can burn a hole in my pocket fast!! KWIM?!;)

stampinhappy 06-15-2005 11:52 AM

I only *PLAN* on spending $250-300. I need to order all the new colors in pads, re-inkers, paper, markers and pastels. I didn't pre-order anything so I NEED one of the HUGE alphabets. I am going to try to buy things from the back of the catalog until I see what you ladies have created with everything with your new "toys" I'm sure that you will convince me to purchase things that I wouldn't have even dreamed of buying on my own. hee hee!

emarj 06-15-2005 12:05 PM

how much do I WANT to spend? 500+ How much can I spend? About $25....Sigh...I need to become a demo so that I can get all of this stuff and play and be able to write it off as business expenses. :)

lesfitz 06-15-2005 12:47 PM

have no clue how much I'll spend yet. I need to work on saving more to buy in bulk when new catty's come out; right now I just get things as I want them throughout the year. I'm getting ready to do a "clearance" sale so hopefully that might generate some income.
Being on base is what makes my business hard. Everyone is so bombared with PC, CM, MK, Tupperware, HMG, etc parties that I've done 1 workshop outside of the one's I do here at my house. I'd love to get people to do more but I haven't found a good clencher to get people.

Happy Heart 06-15-2005 01:58 PM

Last year I spent over $400.00. This year might be the same or more depending on whether I fall in love with any of the new sets. So far that looks doubtful, because I've been less than impressed with the sneak preview sets.http://forums.splitcoaststampers.com...cons/icon9.gif But then, I recall not being too impressed with last year's preview sets either, and I still managed to find enough to buy!http://forums.splitcoaststampers.com...ons/icon12.gif

I will spend my monthly budget of $15-25 (unless a set I want is more). I'll go through the catty and write up my wish list, but I find if I don't buy it right away, some things fall off the list. So no big order for me :)

beccabatgirl 06-15-2005 02:09 PM

I will probably spend less than $100. I was saving my birthday money, but it got spent on some new clothes that actually fit! I will just have to hoard my cash for a few weeks. I also tell myself I don't have to buy everything right away, or I won't have anything to buy later in the year!

toodme 06-15-2005 02:15 PM

Probably closer to $0. I have been increasingly underwhelmed with the selections in the minis and they dont make me hold out hope for the new catalog.

jkstieber 06-15-2005 03:47 PM

I'm planning to place an order with my demo in late August for about $225. But I don't think it's all going to be things from the new catty, there's at last two, maybe three sets in the summer mini that I want to order. But who knows, maybe I'll change my mind when I get the big catty. Problem is, I'm finally finishing up the cr&p cardstock I have and am in the process of replacing it with SU. I need ALOT of paper, and at my last count there's still 19 ink pads I need to order! And I still don't have the pastels, or the markers, and now I'm hearing rumors about watercolor crayons??!!! I'm just glad there wasn't any "must haves" on the retirement list or I'd really be broke.

Julie

wynona 06-15-2005 03:57 PM

Since I haven't gone through this hoopla before, my estimate is $500+. I want it all and I want it NOW!!!

:):):):)

I am just tooooo excited about all of this!!

agentil 06-15-2005 04:25 PM

My goodness ladies! Looks like we have a bunch of power shoppers on here! I try to make my own purchases very modest because I originally signed up to MAKE money, not to SPEND money, though unfortunately, it hasn't worked out quite that way.

I've always really wanted to know what percentage of sales come from demos and how much comes from the "real" customers. I'll bet it's 60%/40% or maybe even 80%/20%. Guess that's a secret we'll NEVER know!

JustMelissa 06-15-2005 06:11 PM

GULP.

Well, since I'm signing up to be a SUD I'm going "all out" - all of the colors in craft pads, the watercolor crayons, cardstock, ribbon, eyelets and plenty o' my favorite (& versatile) sets to start out with. I can afford it right now but may not be able to later so I'm going to jump in with both feet. :D

luvnailart 06-15-2005 06:29 PM

Well I have to parties to go to, one the 15th, I might spend $50 there (My Aunts House)and I have a party the 16th, I will spend like $100 there ( my good friend and Demos house). I can't wait!!!

greetingsbydebra 06-15-2005 06:30 PM

I'm a TAC demo and planning to spend about $250 on my first order. Looking forward to it!!!!

raduse 06-15-2005 08:30 PM

Whatever I can get away with!!! :) Of course, without killing the credit card or bank account. I know I'll have at least 150+, but how much, well?????

OMG!!! I am sitting here at work (by myself!) and LOL to this post!!! Thanks for the great laugh!! It's been awhile since I have laughed this hard.....just caught me in a funny moment I guess!!! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!:D

Sorry....I didnt mean to be one of those people that change the subject of the thread (I forgot what those people are called!!)

clarie.r.f 06-16-2005 02:21 AM

who needs food anyway?

I won 175.00 visa check card for having the highest sales at my job for May. I've also set aside 150.00 for my first order. Plus I have one friend who is getting 50.00 worth of card stock and ink for another friends birthday, so I'm looking to spend 350.00 to 400.00. Might as well tack on another few bucks and get the Hostess set from the summer mini while I'm at it. What's food anyway? I can explain to the family that the new catty is out, that's why we are having beans for dinner again! LOL I'm sure they will understand

scrappiemommie 06-16-2005 03:16 AM

Do we HAVE to tell? What if our DH's or SO others stumble upon this thread?? ;) Or worse yet, our insurance agents...they may want to increase our coverage?? ;) I plead the 5th.... ;)

Too funny!!!

sunseeker 06-16-2005 06:42 AM

Well, I plan on spending $199 to sign up as a demo after July 1 so I'll get stuff from the new catty that way! Then I plan on spending $300 on my first hostess order and that should hold me for a while (at least a few months!).

Auctioning off the kids... hmmm... but I only have two. DRAT!
