Default hodgepodge hardware

Ok this might sound like a stupid question...but i have not figured this one out yet. how do you attach words into the hardware to put it in a card. i know you stamp on cs and then how???

I use Crystal Effects to glue my words into the hardware. Just a bit on the lip of the piece works for me.

how do you cut the piece of cs to size to fit the hardware? this is where my confusion is...:(

I just lay my frame on the paper and lightly trace around with a pencil. Then cut out a smidge inside my line.

stampin up has new oval punches in the new cattie that supposedly are made for this exact purpose!!
