geekgirl415 03-04-2007 12:51 AM

I'm the first to post a vote!!?!?! wow! i leave it up all day, and i work all night so i have it open at work too (it's torture looking at all the great pics and being stuck at work, unable to run to my stamp room!)

dolphinprncss03 03-04-2007 01:28 AM

Its addicting isnt it? LOL
Dawn

sandyrae 03-04-2007 02:05 AM

Would love to do that. But I need the phone line.

Uneeke1 03-04-2007 02:07 AM

Mine is set to automatically open as soon as I turn on my computer and I don't log out until I turn off the computer. So from the time I get home from work and turn it on to the time I drag myself away from the computer to go to bed it's sitting there tempting me.

PUGMAMA 03-04-2007 02:22 AM

Insane and addicting isnt it!

ditto that. but so much cheaper than staring at ebay. which is my home page. i used to tell my dh look what i won. he would always say no look at what you just bought! silly man

CraftCrazy98 03-04-2007 03:30 AM

I open and close it all day but only because I have to share the computer with my hubby. But I may as well leave it open since I'm on it so much. I swear I stalk more than I stamp sometimes! : )

mholles 03-04-2007 03:31 AM

I keep it open all day :)

Joeknee 03-04-2007 05:02 AM

I am open and closer too. I think "Ok, I'll get something done and close it" The I open it again. My computer is upstairs, so my I say to my Mom "I have to go get something" or "I will be right back" and she says "See you in an hour". I think she's on to me... :) but with it a being up stairs, at least I am getting exersize, right???

kittie747 03-04-2007 05:10 AM

I leave it open all day on the weekends when I am home. I open and close it when I have time and can pull up from work during the week days.

parrothead 03-04-2007 05:29 AM

guilty as charged...open all day!!! Pitiful isn't it.....I think I need to get a life!!!

momis mama 03-04-2007 06:24 AM

i had to technically click open all day... seems once i get on i'm on all day.

if i want to go somewhere else i open another browser window.

happy stamping!

MasJac 03-04-2007 06:24 AM

Well with two little ones at home to share the computer with I open and close it as needed. Open more often than closed though. I realized that I should probably let them play their stuff on here too.

Rox71 03-04-2007 06:49 AM

I open and close as needed. I wonder if keeping it open all day when you aren't actually viewing is slowing the system down. So I just close when finished and have an icon on the home page for fast check in or get on through email update.

Can anyone answer that big blue sentence?

Guiloty as charged - but I also wonder. Anyone with an answer?

parrothead 03-04-2007 07:13 AM

Thats an interesting question!!!!!I'm curious!!!!

parrothead 03-04-2007 07:18 AM

actually I switch back and forth with my email all day...but SCS stays on my favorites and I just click on that and then go back to email...is that keeping it open all day????? I'd hate to be "clogging" up the system!!!

Topaz_n29 03-04-2007 07:24 AM

I'm on dial up..so i open and close all day..i know there's a life outside scs sumwhere!!!..just haven't found it yet..lol..loves ya Gail

KimberlyinMN 03-04-2007 07:28 AM

I was just talking to my mom last night about the fact that I am no longer "driven" to buy the Take Ten magazines anymore since I can browse the galleries here for sets that I actually own. :)

I don't necessarily have the site open all day, but I do check it often.

NO! The only way it would use up bandwidth, and slow the system down, is if the page that is open is set to "auto-reload". I don't believe that SCS has any pages that auto-reload.

So for those of us who keep it open all day long, you don't have to worry. :D

I open it and keep it open all day too! Phone line? What phone line LOL I'd rather be on here than get phone calls any day!

Kath 03-04-2007 08:13 AM

Off and on. My two cats like the keyboard too much to leave it on all the time. You would get some really strange posts!

laura's reply was correct, there's no burden on the system to just leave your browser window open. thanks for asking :^)

Rox71 03-04-2007 09:06 AM

Daven - Thank you for the answer and thanks for taking the time to do so!

And Laura, thanks to you too! But Laura, if your daughter is in school don't tie up the phone line...LOL! She might get sick and need her mommy!

CardFanatic 03-04-2007 09:14 AM

I haven't used a phone line in years... I keep it open all day and reload when I want to get back on. I'm addicted. :p

scrappintica 03-04-2007 10:11 AM

I'm another one that keeps it open all day just makes me feel good knowing SCS is always there when I need a break or my procrastination is in high gear or when there's laundry to do or there's dishes in the sink that need to be done..........well you get the picture, I'm on SCS and the house is a mess.

dolphinprncss03 03-04-2007 01:05 PM

wow there is a spin off off my poll lol

amysings 03-04-2007 07:10 PM

I refuse to admit that what finally pushed me over into broadband was a need to view SCS faster. I refuse, I refuse, . . . .

geekgirl415 03-04-2007 09:14 PM

It's okay Amy- really, we understand!

waterytart 03-05-2007 11:42 AM

I'm afraid I have it running most of the day too! Thank goodness for broadband...don't know how I used to cope on dial up!!

reneejul1 03-05-2007 12:48 PM

I have it as my homepage, so whenever I log on to my internet, it pops up for me!! :)

Luvtotravel 03-05-2007 12:48 PM

I spend too much time opening and closing! I share a computer.

Shell 03-05-2007 12:53 PM

I keep my laptop on all day, but I don't keep SCS on if I'm not going to be posting, gallery gazing, or reading, then I put my Firefox on something else so that I'm not considered 'on'.

basurok 03-05-2007 01:13 PM

I'm logged into it at work 24/7~ Love this site~~

mamaof3insd 03-05-2007 01:18 PM

*raises hand* Guilty as charged. :D
I tried to have SCS has my homepage, but DH said that was a bit too obsessive  I don't know what he means by that!
I'm on and off continuously throughout the day so I usually leave it open.

dolphinprncss03 03-05-2007 01:18 PM

thanks to all my SCS Sisters who took the poll i am glad i am not the only one who does this....

dolphinprncss03 03-05-2007 01:20 PM

Hee hee... i bought a laptop for this too- even tho i told DH it was for "school"!

emmiestamps 03-24-2007 10:26 PM

It's up most of the day here, we have cable internet so it's always on!

Penascodragonfly 03-24-2007 10:38 PM

I leave mine on all day at the office. On one tab, I have the gallery running on slideshow, then on another tab I have my office program open for work.

When I have tenants or applicants come in, I can just click the SCS tab and all they can see are the inspirations of you guys. That way, no sensitive information can be seen by unauthorized individuals. Who knew SCS could help protect personal information of others? LOL:rolleyes:

I still am not anywhere close to seeing EVERY gallery item. (my personal goal)
