How to make the Star
Hey everyone,
I saw they showed the star that is done with the DS paper (in the F/W catty) at convention and I was wondering if anyone knows how to make that. TIA.

I may have missed it, but I never saw them demonstrating the star - there was one on the display boards that someone had sent in but no info.

i was at session 1 and definitely did NOT see anyone show how to make that star. Maybe it was session 2???
Anyway, I did make one (one of the posted links) and I will never do it again. What a waste of designer paper! You use a whole sheet and so much is just left over in this goofy shape......ugh!
But, at least I tried it once!

I'm sorry-my original message wasn't clear....I didn't mean that they had shown how to do it, I saw it on one of the boards that someone posted a picture of. Anyway, thank you Inkalicious for the links!

I agree with you. Several of my club members requested we do this at one of our meetings (with the DP, of course). Well, I've tried it several times and it did not turn out as perfectly as the one in the catalog. Instead of wasting DP to show my clubsters, I'm going to give them the directions and some copy paper to give it a try for themselves. Then I'll tell them that they can buy a pack of DP to make some for themselves. Is that bad of me??? I just think you need to practice making them a lot before it will come out perfectly. I hope they understand.

As a customer, I don't think it's bad of you at all. Personally, I like to try these new things on copy paper first. So I think it's a good idea.

mine came out right, but I won't ever do it again....too much waste. If my customers want to know how, I will give them the directions and an order form so they can buy some designer paper. If they want to bring the paper they purchase here, I'm happy to show them! but, I won't be using my supplies to do it, lol.

Not bad of you at all, not even a little bit. In fact, I think that's an excellent idea. Anyone should be happy to have a chance to practice first and that would be quite a lot of DP to waste having everyone do it with a full sheet. Almost guaranteed that it wouldn't come out great the first time for everone, too! Jan

Thanks for the directions. I wil have to try it on copy paper and see how much waste there is. I have never tried them so I am interested to see how easy/hard they are to make.
