Default Sealing pastels?

I just got my pastels and made my first SU project a small composition notebook with a snowman on it. I used the pastels to color in the image and then glued the little piece on the front of the notebook. My question is I noticed that the pastels rub off....what can I use to seal it so the color won't come off? thanks!

I use a REALLY cheap aerosol hairspray! Or I have used matte sealing spray from a craft store-hairspray is cheaper...

Maybe I overspray, but I can always smell hairspray if I use it. I use a matt fixative by krylon. Another thing that seems to work for lesser amounts is to take a piece of scrap paper, lay it over the chalked image and rub it into to the image (paper still, finger moving, if you know what I mean). It seals the chalk into the surface of the original CS.

Default If it's not going to be handled a lot...

you can always just pounce over the pasteled or chalked area with a stipple brush. This will take off any loose powders and mostly keeps color from rubbing off too.
