Smile How do you store your foam alphabet stamp sets?

Cleaning out my craft room and I need some ideas - I have several of the large alphabet sets and they are just in a jumbled mess. Anyone have a good way to keep them organized?

I haven't actually done this myself, but could you run a strip of velcro along a conveniently-sized piece of strong CS, and put pieces of velcro on the backside of your alpha stamps? Or you could use poster tape rather than velcro. HTH!

Right now mine are in big jars that sit on a shelf in my stamp/scrap room. I like that I can see them so I remember to use them. I recently saw in a CK magazine where a gal stored hers in photo boxes with letter divider cards so that all her A's were together, B's together, etc. That way you can find the letter you want and mix up the fonts if you want -- very creative idea I thought!

I get CK and I missed that too. Love the photo box idea - but I wonder if they would all fit in one box...might need two cause they are kinda bulky. I am trying to go to a more clean/streamlined look and not so cluttered so I like the idea of them put away in the photo box. Thanks for all the ideas!

Check out the July issue of CK, page 142. Now I just need to go find some fun boxes and I'm storing mine the same way. And yes, I'll need more than one box 'cause I buy too many foam alphabets! HTH!

I took my large ones, like the MMemories sets and put them in the plastic storage boxes with dividers that Michaels sells. (see thumbnail) Mine actually fit with the stamps stacked standing on their sides, in alphabetical order so one compartment has A-D etc. They are sooo much more manageable that way. I have all my SU stamps in their cases too so I can then store these plastic cases with the SU ones on their sides (like books on a shelf), then I can slide them in and out of the bookcase easily.

Another tip, I ended up cutting off the extra black foam from the back of the stamp that kept making a mark when I stamped (see attachment). Now they work much better and I can line up the words more easily also.
Oh yea, my bad for not cleaning my stamps off right away. I guess I'm busted!

This is how I have mine stored. It is very easy to find the letters you need, at a glance.

I have mine in pizza boxes. The pizza place charges .40 for the medium size. They're on the top shelf of a closet. Easy to stack and keep flat. I keep all my stamps that are not sets in pizza boxes. Affordable, and easy. I just label the ends: flowers, animals, wedding, baby, foam, nautical, etc.

Oh my gosh - that is AWESOME! These are called document boxes? I assume you buy them in the stationary aisle?

Document boxes are found for $1 in the seasonal dollar spot at Target. They have appeared for the second year in a row when the summer merchandise changes over to school supplies. There's been a big run on them and they are out at lot of places. If you go back to twopeasinabucket.com MB there are spotting threads which include the SKU.

I got 10 two weeks ago and they have been out ever since. The day I got them they were being stocked and another shopper grinned at me as she took 20 direct from the stock boxes. The clerk thought we were both nuts.

If you are in California the word is they are also available in "Japanese grocery stores".

There are slightly bigger and stronger versions at Office Depot, but they are $8 each. The $1 ones are quite a bargain in comparison.

Thank you soooooooo much for the link!!!!! I literally live on the same street as Target, 3/4 mile away, I go there every day practically, and I have never seen these! Might have to take a road trip to the other side of town to see if they have them. Those look perfect for the storage!

Also, I checked out the CK Photo storage box, and that looks doable too. My only OCD issue is breaking up a style of alpha stamps. Sorry, at least I admit it!!!!!

Well if your Target doesn't have them then check your local Big Lots. I have 2 Targets in town, neither had the document boxes for the last couple of years. Last year I dropped in on Big Lots and found something similar, a little deeper than the document boxes, for $2 each.

That is funny, I am in Japan (no Target )and was just thinking that they carry these in all the 100Yen stores (basically the same as a dollar store).
