How do you put sentiments on the front of cards?

Well, I know that you stamp them, but usually I have a busy or dark DP and it doesn't look right stamping on it. But I hate the look of stamping the sentiment on white card and mounting it on the front too. I have a really cool baby saying that I want to use, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to put it on.

Well, if it's dark cardstock you can stamp in white pigment ink.

If it's busy cardstock I would probably consider stamping on a solid piece of cardstock (not necessarily white) and maybe layering it on a different colored mat for interest. Or you could use a frame around the solid cardstock.

Did you try browsing the gallery for ideas? A few off the top of my head: stamp onto a chipboard shape and attach with a ribbon/brad/eyelet/miniature safety pin; stamp onto a punched shape that picks up one of the colours in your DP (circle, oval...) and mat onto a toning or contrasting shade; as Jessica suggested, use white pigment ink and if that's not a strong enough contrast then use white embossing powder too; make a little interactive element by having a flap in your DP with the sentiment underneath and a ribbon tab for raising the flap.

HTH!

You could emboss your sentiment in a lighter colour, like this one of mine

Or you could mat a solid colour underr what you stamp the image on, not white but a complimentary colour, like this

There are a lot of ways to get around your problem, actually. Surfing the gallery is a great idea. Check out the latest uploads and favorite some that help you.

Good luck!

I don't think I was very clear. I have already got an image stamped in white and matted on another piece of cardstock on the front, cut with my rectangle nestabilities. Putting another rectangle on the front will look silly I think, but don't quite know how else to use the sentiment. Will have to have a think I guess.

Can you add a tag or a circle or some other kind of punch to the front somewhere with a brad? Like layer it on top of the rectangle on a corner of it...KWIM? (Clear as mud, right?)

I stamp in the image square or circle, right above the image.
