How do you like your...
Just curious how do you like your By Definition background stamp?
Thank you |
I'd be interested in hearing responses as well, I know I have read in the past a lot of gals really enjoy this stamp. May be with all the new ones it's not as favored as it once was.
Thought I might order soon incase it goes on the retiring list!?!?!? |
I've had it for a year and I hardly ever use it now. I do love it though. When I first got it, I used it on every card I made for a while. I think I need to pull it out and challenge myself to use it again.

It's an oldie, but a goodie. I still use it frequently.
|
I still LUV it!!!!!!! :)

I love my by definition BG stamp. I like stamp it on white & highlight a certain word (or words), using chalk. I also like to stamp it in a light color and then stamp off to make it very faint. I still use it quite a lot.

I like it a lot, but I wouldn't use it for the back of an entire card. I like using just a bit of it on a card.
|
I agree with Joan, great for layering, goes good with some sets like Mon Ami. I hadn't thought of highlighting a word.
|
I rarely use mine, but I've gotten a few different ideas from this thread, so I'll have to pull it out again Thanks for the good ideas.

Thanks ladies, if you wouldn't use it for the whole card - just layering, do you think it is alot like Lexicon of Love (last years SAB) and is it silly to have both?
Thanks again |
I still use mine quite often. No, I don't think its silly to use both By definition and the lexicon of love, I think they'd compliment oneanother well.
|
I like mine...it is sort of a masculine version of french script. I use it a fair amount on masculine cards.

I still use it..... it's one of my favorite backgrounds when I make cards for my husband....... I wonder if he's getting tired of seeing it!

Let's just say that if I weren't already married....;)
(yeah...I love it!) |

I just got it. I haven't used it yet, but I've got lots of plans for it. I'm really into all the BG stamps right now. I'm having a hard time leaving a piece of CS plain.

Truly, I don't think Lexicon of Love compares to it at all. I find the size/shape of the Lexicon stamps are hard to design with... but that's just me. I like that By Definition doesn't limit you in that way. And to make it more like Lexicon, you could always cut the cardstock down to the same size, stamp with By Definition, and overstamp with another word.

Thanks everyone

I love mine...but I am not the best person to ask, because I love all my background stamps ;)
|
Hmmm, I guess I am in the minority on this one. I like the background for the typewriter look of it, but I wish they had a more generic one -- the 'love' theme limits its uses for me.

I don't have it, although I do have it on my wish list. When I do want to use a layer like that I just put a piece of cardstock through my printer :) Works good but not the same!

I have wanted this background for a long time, I finally got it on my last order about a month ago. As I was mounting it I was thinking what am I going to use it for. I can't explain it, it just all of a sudden seemed so... not- versatile. If that makes any sense. So thanks for this post, I'm getting inspired to use it. I'll also go check the gallery again. One of the best suggestions here has been to use it with light ink so it gives just a faint look. I have seen this and it is beautiful, it just gives the card texture. I had forgotten this use, so next time I stamp that is how I'll be using it.
