Default How do you do the circle/eyelet/thread ties?

These are usually seen for quick tying with no frills on lots of the "anything but a card' treats instead of ribbon or velcor. They are either eyelets or brads with a circle or cardstock under them. How do you secure the thread that will go from one circle and wind around the other?

Thank you for the assist to what now seems like a DUH moment. I should try one out myself. I couldn't imagine holding the tiny eyelet in position along with the cardstock and thread to hammer it down. lightbulb moment - secure string AFTER...
