Question How do you clean your blender pen?

I just started using my blender pen and was wondering how you 'clean' it between uses. I've been using it a lot by picking up ink off an ink pad top (you know, by squeezing it together!?) but once I get enough ink it just won't stop coloring after I'm done with it! (which is good in some cases, I guess!) I've just been doodling on a scrap paper to 'wear' out the color before I use it for another color.
But is there an easier way to 'clean' it? I'm sure it's something really simple, but I'm just not getting it!
Thanks in advance to all of you ingenious stampers out there!
