Default How can I improve on this?

I'm making nametags for a baby shower. The tag measures 2 x 3. They are just so blah-looking. I'm thinking a ribbons would help it immensely, but don't know where to put it. I also haven't decided if I should run the tags through my Xyron for a stick-on, or have it as a pin on.

Okay, now that I've asked for advice, let's see if I can get the attachment to work!

Cute! Maybe if you raise the foot just a touch and add a strip of ribbon from the left to the right under it. I think a pin might work better. The adhesive from the Xyron might leave adhesive on the wearer's clothes.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm going to check my ribbon stash to see if I have something in a gingham or polka dot that would work. It's too late to raise the foot though, they have already been stamped and printed with the names on them.

I used Houndstooth in Almost amethyst one time and a friend said it looked like a baby blanket. Maybe try that and then a darker color on top and then use baby safety pins to attatch them to shirts. I found some pastel colored safety pins at my local scrap book store. I really like your basic idea though!

Okay I just read where it was too late to do any big changes. So my suggestion would be to add a little bow on bottom in gingham or polka dot it may be cute to even dangle a charm of some kind like a pacifier from the middle of bow. Then use safety pins to attach to guests shirts. Hope this helps pat yourself on the back for coming up with such an adorable idea!

Can you use the foot wheel in the background in versamark?

How about attaching it with a diaper pin with ribbon tied to the pin?

I would make it into an actual tag. Use a corner rounder on the end and add an eyelet with ribbon or fibers.

I would also stamp some sort of background on at least the botton 1/3 of the tag. I like Montigg's suggestion of the baby hand/foot wheel in versamark. You could even use Itty Bitty Backgrounds or an actual BG stamp. I would use a tone on tone ink.

Good luck!

I like this idea also...especially some of that gingham grosgrain ribbon.

This is exactly what I was going to suggest - solves two problems at once!
I was thinking a border might help too -- or maybe just ink the edges by DTP or a sponge?

I think that the baby pin idea is great....how about adding a ribbon with a knot in the middle down the side were the heel lies....

I like the diaper pin for attaching. Also if you do want to add a BG you can just mask your foot and still put on a BG. I think with all that space it would be good. Diane
