Default Anyone in OKC area know how to use COPICS well??

I splurged and bought a bunch and need help learning how to use them. I have watched some of the videos, tired a little and just can't get the blending thing going. I am happy to pay for lessons, trade out stamp stash etc. There are no classes around here for advanced techniques such as the copic markers. I am looking for more than basics . thanks in advance.

I'm a bit North of you (Cushing), but sadly, I can't help you. I use Prismacolor pencils & baby oil for my stamping.

In case you haven't visited this blog, here is a link. There is lots of info on Copics here.

http://ilikemarkers.blogspot.com/

I live in OKC, too. (Far NW, near 122nd and Council.) Nice to meetcha! I don't know of any classes in this area for Copics. I use mostly Bic and Sharpie markers, with a few of the pale Copic colors for contrast.

I'm pretty happy with the results I get. Like everything else, it's all in the eye of the beholder, lol. I just keep making cards and assuming I'm getting better with practice.

Hi Suzy!! Can't help ya...I just wanted to say hi!
When you learn, can you come and teach me?
Seriously, I've just been watching every tutorial I can find on them. Some are helpful, some aren't. The best one I saw showed the girl taking her markers and marking spots onto a plastic lid or something, and then pulling the color from there with a blender pen (or something...) and blending with that. I haven't tried it yet, because I only have one copic, and I'm happy with the way my frog looks when I just color it carefully.

That sounds like this YouTube video by Jenn Muraoka.

I watched it a while ago but remember the technique, especially considering the quality of the samples shown on Jenn's blog.

Wow! Thanks for that link. I've seen quite a few that require several markers but this is one I can actually use to create shading with the pathetically small group of Copics I own, and it gives me direction for collecting a more in my "couple at a time" pauper's method! ((small note in case you wonder, they are cOpics...long O))
