Default Are HOUNDSTOOTH and WEATHERED good background stamps to get??

HI everyone,

Just wondered what you guys thought of the above mentioned background stamps?? Here in oz, the SU special for July is buy one background stamp get the next at 25 per cent discount. I have canvas and frenchscript already, and the only other 2 that I like are Weathered and Houndstooth!!

What do you think?

Cheers

Karen

I have both. Probably use Houndstooth more, but I think it depends more on the sets you have. I don't recall seeing Houndstooth in the new catalog though. I like the paisley background stamp they have and one two other ones that are new.

To me, Weathered is a must-have background. Houndstooth is cool, but not essential, so if I liked it, I'd take this opportunity to get it at a discount!

They are both quite masculine/neutral. If it was me, I would have one of those and floral or fine lace, so I'd go for houndstooth and floral. But then I have them all!

I love both! Weathered isn't retiring so you can hold off on getting this one, but Houndstooth is a must order by today. I LOVE my Houndstooth (and yes I'm yelling as I love it that much). I really thing that you'll enjoy it if you get it.

If I read between the lines correctly, the OP is in Australia, so she has no worries about the "retiring factor".

I have both, but used houndstooth more. Go with your current preference and pick up the other one some other time.

Houndstooth is one of my very most used stamps. Could not live without it. Works for retro, masculine, and classic looking cards.

I have both the Houndstooth and Weathered and love them BOTH...

Houndstooth is obviously going to be the more bold of the two - Weathered creates just a beautiful texture element to the cardstock - especially when you use it tone on tone

I love the houndstooth it looks great with girly cards or cards that you want to look like fabric. I recently made a pocket card with the houndstooth and used three different coordinating colors on the flap, bottom, and back of card. I used the Pattern of Friendship to go with it. Gorgeous!
