Today I got my first request to sell some cards to my teacher. I'm in school for Dental Assisting and made some thank you cards for my teachers at the end of the last semester using "DentalBella" image. One of my teachers was really loving the card I made and commented how I should be selling them and that she had never seen anything so cute!
Well, low and behold today in class she asks me if I would make a dozen "Thank you" Bella cards for her. I was sooooo excited I just about jumped up and down and hollered "Wohoooo!!".
Of course I said sure! I told her $2 per card, that should cover my costs and still make a little fun money to play with. I'm just so excited as I have never even considered selling any of my cards other than just giving some to my family to use.
This made my day after having done 2 tests and working very hard studying.
Just wanted to share my good news with you all!!
I've attached a pic of the cards I made- still had it on my computer after all these months. She got the one with the tooth brad!
YOU SOLD YOUR CARDS TOO CHEAP!! AT LEAST 3.50 A CARD
Some of us live in areas where folks will not pay that much, no matter how cute. I can't ever sell cards for more than $2 at a craft fair -- $3 to my fellow architects and designers at the office. Believe me, I've tried! No one will buy.
Also, typing in all caps is the internet equivalent of screaming, and is considered bad form not to mention being hard to read in large blocks of text. ;)

How rewarding for you, isn't it so satisfying.
I'd have thought you under-priced them too, remember there is time as well as materials. On the other hand, if they are all the same design, then they are quicker to make, and it would be normal to charge less for a pack of cards than an individual one. Either way, well done.
Congrats on selling some cards...the feeling is just so awesome that someone will pay for your creations...I sell a lot of cards...I use the $$ to replenish the supplies for my soldier project and pay for the postage.
Blessings.
I think that the price is fine for the quantity --- I just would charge a little more if they were being sold individually - especially with that cute little tooth brad. But a volume discount is appropriate in my opinion
Congratulations! I remember when I sold my first cards I thought, wow, someone likes my work enough to pay for it!!!! It is wonderful validation! I agree it depends where you live as to how much you can get. Yours are very cute! I sell mine for three dollars each no matter how simple or detailed they are. I just enjoy making them and feel great that people like them! So enjoy the self-satisfaction you feel.....you deserve it!!!!
your cards are adorable and I don't blame her for wanting to buy them!! Good job and it is such a great feeling to have someone want to buy them. I personally feel anything we make should sell for a million dollars..........LOL but I think it is a good price for your first sale.
Congrats
Lori
Gorgeous cards! Kudos to you! What a great compliment, having someone put in a special order like that! That would have made my day too! What a blessing for your hard work! Keep up the great work!
I found the tooth brads at Archivers way back in April/May. They came with ones that said tooth fairy and little quarters also. I stopped in Archivers today to see if they had any more but had no luck. I did find some cool dentist/dental DP to use on future card.
Thanks ladies for all your nice compliments and support!
