Dh actually put down the remote control, got out of the recliner, and helped me unload and move my stamping desk, and assisted me with some painting. My room is totally stripped down, new paint job, and flooring starts next week.
So it's an official news flash, hell has undoubtably frozen over. lol

I'm feelin' the chill all the way in Canada, but I'll put a sweater on and take one for the team if that means a new stampin' space for you! Enjoy the room.

Weeellll, I haven't heard any offers of moving stuff back, but I heard some mumbling about the house being in "utter chaos" as I flew off to Jazzercise this morning. Going to start painting in a few minutes, going to get that room finished. Then going to fire the grill up this afternoon, and hit the pool for the first time this season, over 90 degrees in east Texas.
Maybe with the icy conditions "down below" will cool thing off here. lol

So funny!!!!!!!! Good for you--getting a new scrap/stamp space--lucky girl!
Thanks for the laugh this Sunday morning. You made my day!
It is done, painting finished. Now the real fun begins. My son is a correctional officer at a prison, so some inmates showed him and some other guards some remodeling knowledge. He assures me he can put down a floating wood laminate floor. I am going to trust him, so we will be heading off to Lowe's this afternoon to get all the goodies. I could have a flooring company come and do it, but this will be a project for mother and son to work on, bonding time. Dh just stand at the guest bedroom, piled high with all my "STUFF", just shakes his head, and moves on.
If any of you have young daughter's, and they show the least interest in a male born and raised in east Texas, kidnap her, send her away to boarding school, college way far away, save her from years of irritation. lol
Yes, it's funny, but you should see the artwork my son has on his walls in his home. Some real talent in the prison population. He can take his boat to work, pay the state a few dollars, buy all the parts, and inmates have rebuilt the seats, rewired, fixed the engine. Hopefully some of them will use these talents for their own good, and make a life after release.
Congrats, Patrice - to you and your whole family for pitching in!! Loved reading your post !!
I should be thinking H*ll froze over up here just for the fact that I have some dedicated stamp space and will probably hear no complaints if I decide to paint the room myself LOL!
It is amazing what prisoners can accomplish if they choose to behind bars. Last Fall at a benefit auction my DH picked up the cutest little round picnic table with matching benches - little apple-shaped cutouts on the side, trimmed with paint - and turns out it was made at a local correctional facility. They've apparently always been strong participants in donating items to local charitable groups. Something to consider if someone's school or group needs donations .
I'm sure your floor will be beautiful and the whole room inspiring!!
This thread is a hoot....did it I miss it somewhere...what color did you paint?...My room is white (new house, most walls were white) We have painted some rooms but I would love to paint my stamp room..my problem is I love so many of the colors..I would love stripes about a foot wide in several different colors...what do you ladies think? I can do whatever I want I would just absolutly dread empting out that room..talk about a nightmare..I have so much stuff..TWO huge bookcases with just the SU stamp sets..that does not include all the other assorted wood sets, Papertrey, MFT, Flourishes and other assorted sets..I have a 5 ft tall CD tower full of TAC stamps in CD cases too. And lets not get started on the paper...lol. Would love to paint though. I hope your room is perfect when you are finished.
blessings.
