Default Make your own rubber stamps?

Has anyone seen a kit where you can make your own stamps? I saw one tonight on the web for $300.00 and was wondering if it was worht it. I really don't want to make a lot of my own stamps but now and then I wish I could have a stamp of something particular. If it really worked, it would be worth the money to me because it would be cheaper than going to the not-so-local rubber stamp shop. Thoughts or comments?

You can buy stuff at Michael's to make stamps that you carve yourself. I have also seen a "photo" stamp kit somewhere. Seems like it was 50-75 bucks. Do a google search.

I know you can carve a stamp from a pink eraser, you may want to start there. You may love it then you can invest you may hate it then your investment has been low. there was an article in a stamping mag. a few years ago about carving your own stamps.

This is not carving stamps, but actually making a mols at home from your drawing or computer generated image. NO WAY could I even begin to carve out an image to stamp. Any other thoughts on this?

if you have a sissix die cut machine and some dies, you can make any rubber stamp you want from them! Just buy the rubber foam paper, acrylic mounts and hook/loop tape and you can make them....I get the sissix catalog and they have instructions in it plus the materials you need to buy...

you can also buy that spongey material that puffs up when you add water to it....forget the name, but anyways you can make the puffy sponge stamps the same way as well....

if you have the money go for it. i've gotten 2 stamps made and each cost me $30. so if you made yourself one stamp a month (2x2 size) it would pay for itself in 10 months.

I needed to make some rubber stamps of my own recently. You can design your own stamps and email them to a company called Rubber Stamping Across America (or something like that.) Their website is: www.rubberstampit.com. You can design a whole 7" x 9" sheet for $18.00. I ordered mine, but have not cut it out and stamped with it yet. It does not look like the same quality you'd get from a regular stamp store, yet I think it will do the job I need them to. I'll let you know after I try them. Anyway, it was a lot cheaper than the $60.00 that I paid to Office Max for 5 stamps!

I will keep your ideas in mind- thanks for sharing. I have some $ burning a hole in my pocket and don't think I can wait until July 1 for SU! I may break down and buy that stinking kit after all.

If you do buy that machine, please post and let us know if it's good. I've wanted one for a long time but wanted to see if anyone else thought it was worth it.
Thanks,
Gina
