Help With Non SU Stamp Storage
 

I just got my first TAC order and was curious how you store your non-SU sets? I have been putting them in CD cases, but some of the sets are too small or too large? What do you do? Does anyone put multiple sets in a single case? Do you stamp the images or photocopy them out of the catty so you know what is in each case? TIA for the help!!

Back when I used unmounteds, I kept them all in a (HUGE) binder. In the binder was page protectors in different sizes, trading card, 4x6, 5x7, etc. I imagine you could do something like this with your sets, and maybe put tabbed dividers in between each set, or maybe between sections, like "Flowers" or "Birthday," etc.

Best to get going NOW on a system, lol, those things seem to multiply like bunny rabbits!

I put mine in CD cases. If the set is too big for one case, I split it in 2 and I also share CD cases with smaller sets. I am a bit of a neat freak so everything is labeled as well, LOL. One of the upper TAC gals also had hers in the DVD cases but I have no clue where she picked them up without the built in inserts.

I put mine in a binder. In front of the stamps I put a sheet of paper (in a page protector) that has pictures of the stamps, I stamp them on the page if I don't have a picture. I tried other ways to store them but really like this system.

I'm trying to include a link so you can see what it looks like, you buy these special pages that are heavyier than cardstock and the stamps cling to them.

I have only recently found out about TAC (on this site, lol), so I don't have any of their sets. I have acrylic sets from Stampabilities and I keep them in the packaging that they came in and then put them into a plastic accordian check file box. My CTMH sets are in a cd organizer.

Oh! Someone I know who's avid fan of UMs said she purchased a rolling cart with file drawers (Iris) and she stored the UMS in file folders on sheets of acetate.

She claimed it was the easiest organizational system she'd ever tried for her UMS and now she uses them more than ever before because it's so easy to find what she needs and then put away after use!

I thought it was pretty ingenious and if I ever got into UMs, I'd definitely try her system.

I just got my first TAC order too! I was thinking of keeping the sets in their original cases, and photocopying a picture of the set to tape under the top of the box. Glad to know there are other options, though. Thanks, all, for sharing!

Storing Un-mounts
 

Hi ladies,

Here is what I do with my un-mounted stamps.

First I cut them and then I place them on the CD case to see if they will all fit in 1 Case. If not then I get another CD case. Then I take a sheet of Paper about size of the CD case and stamp the images on the paper then place it in the CD case with double stick tape. I then label the lip of the case.

( I have a Dymo Labeler) If the set of stamps won't fit into 1 CD case then I label it Retro Flowers 1 and Retro Flowers 2
I have some Old CD storage holders that you pull out and I store mine inside.
I have all drawers Label on the outside: So I will know which drawer to look in.
(Animals, Sayings, Florals, Holidays, Misc.)

This so far has work GREAT for me.

I also store my SU stamps (smaller sets) inside the drawers. The larger sets go on top of the storage drawers.

Now if I can get the rest of my stuff in place so I don't spent an hour looking for it...That would be GREAT!

So matter how you store you un-mounts is up to you.

I just like mine is CD cases....Cause I can take them with me to shows and on camping trips and not have fear of loosing them.
I have a Big tool box that I keep my stamping supplies in when I do a show or go Camping.

It's big enough to hold my ink spots(stored in the plastic boxes that the stamp sets came in)
Markers (also stored inside plastic boxes)
Cardstock....
About 6 to 10 CD cases with my stamps.
Brads, Ribbon, double stick tape......all my cutting tools.
and another empty Plastic box Large for storing Done Cards.

I have a couple of systems in place,, with over 3000 stamps you need to do something

for my unmounts I use clear hard plastic portfolioes the 5x7 inches,,, Ihave them in themes,,
I have stamped the image on the outside, they fit nicely in one tin can I have.

i also have theme boxes.

These are the type of boxes that come from offices that do lots of mailing , they are the envelope boxes that hold 500 business envies...
They are plain white, and I theme them,, I have a floral them, Wildlife theme, Dog and Cat theme,,Postal theme, Bird stamps...

I also have 6 shelfs that are themed,,, 3 are Asian themed, because those are my favorite,,, one shelf is seasonal,,, I trade them into themed boxes,,,right now i have my christmas stamps on them. I have a favorites and a newly bought shelf.

i have one rolling cart dedicated to stampscapes and scenery stamps

My stampin up stamps are all over,,, depending, some of my su have been taken out of boxes, and added to the various collections, like all the asian sets are broken out of the cases and added to my asian shelfs.

I also have one rolling cart dedicated to stamps that are words, and background stamps...

makes for interesting conversation when someone visits me who is a non stamper,,, LOL,,,
