Default spiral bounding cattys

picking up my catty in 1 hour and 15 minutes! along with the Time Well Spent set that my demo is selling to me - woo hoo!!! Trying to decide if I should go to Staples and have it spiral bound as soon as I pick it up. How much did it cost and how long were you separated from your catty while it was being done?

$2.60 at Staples, and it took 15 mins

perfect - I'm going to Staples as I realized I have to pick up printer ink anyway so I might as well get my catty bound. Thanks!

I usually have Office Max cut the original binding off and then I just bind it myself with my BIA. That only costs me about a dollar. I have spent close to $6-7 dollars to have mine bound there before so I thought I would get the use out of my BIA instead. I have started to do it for all my friends too! It does take some time but I feel so good about actually doing it myself!

I had my last one bound at Staples for $1.60 and I had them bind the Canadian price adjustment sheet in with it too.
I dropped it off, did some shopping ran som errands, and it was ready when I came back.

Back home with my new catty but unbound. CS at Staples was incredibly rude - the girl was on the phone for 10 minutes jabbering away about non work stuff. When she finally got off the phone to help me, I found out my request wouldn't be ready until Monday. I didn't want to wait that long so I left and will not be visiting this particular Staples again. I'll get my book bound on Monday at the local print shop and while it may take longer for them to do it, they'll be nice about it and will even try to get it done that same day. I just didn't want to be parted from the catty this weekend.

Hope those who are getting theirs bound have better CS than I did today.

that's a bummer :(

I know the guy at the print counter at Staples was a little slow as well. I asked him to cut the binding off, and then spiral bind it. He looks at it and goes "hmmmm...I'm not sure i can cut this off, but I can definitely bind it for you". I'm like, well I've heard from other people that you just cut the very edge off and then you are able to bind right through it. He was like "yea but I'm not sure I should cut it, I might leave it on".

I'm thinking, how the HECK would I then be able to turn the pages!?!?

Luckily my hubby was there and explained to the guy. I was worried about my precious catty. phew!

I got mine done at Office Max as I had a 15% off coupon for the printing area. I think it was $1 to cut the binding off, maybe $2.50 to add the spiral and then I also got a clear plastic front and back cover. With the discount it was around $3.50 total.

I had asked about a plastic pocket too as someone had recommended here on SCS, but they said they could not do that. I even found a clear pocket that had three hole punches in the store and asked if I got that, could it be done. Still a no! But, I am very happy and for that price, it is well worth it. I was one of four total ladies in this store with cattys getting the spiral!!!!

I went to Office Max (or Office Depot) and paid an extra $2 to get the front and back covers laminated. I read that on another post and I think it will be worth it because the covers always seem to take such a beating.
