Default New to Stamping

Hi Everyone!
I'm new to stamping and I'm wondering if someone can point me in the direction of a set of stamps that are suited to making some cards for men? I want to do a birthday card for my brother-in-law for later this month and I'm clueless? Anyone able to give a newbie a shove in the right direction? lol

Thanks!
Peg

I think several of the sets in the "vintage" section of the SU! catalog work well for masculine cards. Artifacts is one set I'm thinking of particularly. You can see the Stampin Up! catalog online at www.stampinup.com

Good luck!

One of my favorite SU sets to make masculine cards is Lovely As A Tree, it makes great sympathy, femanine, and masculine cards!

I sent you a PM. The SU catalog is available at stampinup.com there is also a demo locator option that can help you find a demonstrator near you. I think this is true of most of the stamping companies. Happy stamping.

Natural Beauty (leaves and bird) and Lexicon of love (celebrate) makes a really great card for a man. I founf a really great example in the gallery. I'll see if I can link it.

Check out the gallery here on SCS. You will find many cool cards for Men!

I did a search for you. Most the photo's have the stamp set listed in their description.
Hope this help you decide what you are looking for.

That's a great link!! I couldn't find the card I was talking about, but natural beauty has some really nice cards that would be appropriate for a man.
I think leaves or trucks, or just a nice sentiment in the right colors would work.
I bought Noble deer for some really manly cards.

I thought it might help....
I was trying to think of all the manly stamp sets that SU sells.
Or has sold.
Only a few came to mine. one of them is Classic Pickup
and the other is Nobel Deer.

I don't have my SU catalog near by me so I am going by memory.

In general you can use any scenery type stamps (trees, leaves, mountains, etc). Also, if they have a hobby you can set the theme with that. Also, of course, you will want to stick to the darker colors (no hot pink LOL!)

Here are a few masculine cards from my gallery. Some aren't birthday per se...but the greeting could be changed.
